The show kicked ass! A lot of people were upset with their seats, but as others have said, when half the arena is 10C members, some are gonna be in the back...I do think 10C actually learns from these situations. When they sold the two additional Philly shows there was a disclaimer saying something like "We have more than our usual amount of tickets for these shows, but after the usual allotment has been allocated, we can't guarantee prime seat location..."
Anyway, from what i saw, that show rocked from wherever you were sitting...
in all fairness....has anyone EVER gotten a 300 level seat thru 10c before? i've not ever heard of it, nor would i expect it.....not even at MSG, philly, boston or chicago. it definitely IS surprising, and i am sure to some degree, disappointing. i don't think ANYone with a high # expects a prime seat, but i wouldn't imagine worse than the 200 level. hell, the MSG I 2003 show, filled with 10clubbers, and my mediocre # still managed 200 level midway back. i would be very, very surprised to ever get 300 level seats. sure, the OP may be poor form, but i still think the idea behind it....not that far off. at least now i know, i may be in the 300 level for 10.30. :P
seriously tho, it seems like from my limited reading here....some got 300s....and some didn't.....even with similar 10c #s. also would seem that there must've been at least some TM tix that were sloser/better....and not just the rare single ticket. so it definitely appears to set a precedent in any case.
hope all managed to have a great time anyway!
(and damn....do pj still ban binoculars?)

The Monday show wasn't sold out
I'm talking about people that purchased tickets through Ticketmaster for both the Sunday & Monday show that had better seats than people, who had good 10C numbers, and were in the 300 level.or you can come to terms and realize
you're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah...

IlliniGuy76 wrote:paulonious wrote:some find it humorous when people only want improvement on issues when it affects them directly. that's called selfishness and whining.
take it up with the 10C, sistas. none of us can do anything about your entitlement issues.
1) It affected not one person, it affected a LOT of people.
2) Again - THIS THREAD is in direct topic of what we are talking about..if you wish not to talk about it, move along to another thread.
3) I realize you love tossing that word "entitlement" around because you believe it makes your argument look that much better.
Let's put the def of entitlement:
Main Entry: en·ti·tle·ment
Pronunciation: \-ˈtī-təl-mənt\
Function: noun
Date: 1942
1 a : the state or condition of being entitled : right b : a right to benefits specified especially by law or contract
2 : a government program providing benefits to members of a specified group; also : funds supporting or distributed by such a program
3 : belief that one is deserving of or entitled to certain privileges
I do not believe I was deserving of a certain privelege. I believe, people believe, they were deserving of the service THEY PAID FOR. You see, the service said that 10C will get you the best seats possible. When you have others, in better areas of the arena, getting much better seats.. that's not getting the best seats possible. In other words, people are angry because the service they signed up for/paid for.. they didn't get according to what it actually says.
1) really?
2) I am talking about it what this thread is about. you just don't like what I'm saying. If you wish just have a pitty party amongst yourselves without any other feedback that you may not like, then don't go on a public forum to bitch about your problems.
3) you seem like throwing around the word "comprehend" to make your argument look that much better.
look, your definition of a service you paid for is obviously different than mine. You and I, and all of these people, all paid for a membership to a band's fan club, which includes, may I add, two things guaranteed by the Ten Club, and one thing that is not guaranteed. Please try and figure out which is which:
-a holiday vinyl single
-quarterly issues of Deep magazine
-POTENTIALLY good seats to a Pearl Jam show
You keep spouting the same drivel over and over, so I need not bother with this any more. But I will leave you with this, something I knew you would trip over on your own; you keep denying that there is a sense of entitlement at issue here with some of the Ten Clubbers (yourself included).
Feelings of deserving something is the exact same thing as a feeling of entitlement. It's right in your little definition there, sparky. And you even spelled it out yourself in the paragraph that follows it. And if you feel the need to argue that, then suck on this (copied directly, again, from your defnition):
a right to benefits specified especially by law or contract. Is this not EXACTLY what you people (or at the very least, Illinois Bois) are arguing? That you have a right to the benefits as outlined in the terms of your membership agreement? That's what you are all stating!
Peace out. Can't wait till the next batch of whining. No doubt when some people get their ten club edition of Backspacer and it doesn't include the lock of Ed's hair that they were entitled to .Gimli 1993

I told myself that I wouldn't bitch on here about seats, but they did really suck on Sunday. I have a really shitty number. Let old one lapse. My fault. But, I was 2 rows from the very top in section 317. The energy was great at the show (not so much in my section), but I could feel it in the room. If the explanation for the seats is that there were so many ten clubbers in the audience, I totally understand and respect that. It was just a little disappointing to be so far away. It was nice to have the screens, but I felt a bit more disconnected from the band than usual...like watching TV. I cannot do anything about my shitty ten club number and I will continue to get tickets from the Ten Club since they have been better in the past.
If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this0 -
Paulonius, I like your attitude, but I must say I disagree with you. Bottom line, tc members, regardless of number, should have the best seats the tc can possibly offer. TC has always been great to me, and they were again on Sunday, 3rd row, but I side with the people who were in the nose bleeds here. I do not blame tc, im sure something happened here that was out of their control, but when you travel to see pj banking on tc tix to be at least decent, and you have the worst seats in the venue, that is reason to complain. If your number is over 200 you cant expect great seats in a city like chicago, but you most certainly shouldnt expect the worst seats. I had people sitting next to me who bought seats on tm, that aint right. And I really don't think people bringing this situation up are whining, we must realize that this site is really the only platform to voice grievances.Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...0

Should I have expected to be that far back with that #? I didn't think so. Couldn't see a thing on stage. Was I happy about it? Definitely not. Did I have a good time anyway? Yes.
My problem is that you have no idea where you will be seated, and I would bet money that people working the ticket booths take tickets out of 10c envelopes and swap them, maybe make a couple of bucks partnering with scalpers. What methods are in place to prevent that from happening?
But instead of complaining to the 10c about seat location, maybe we can ask them about letting us know where we will be when we order tickets, or at least give us a general idea of where we should be?

Well my number is 189xxx. Last year at MSG that had me on the floor but back a bit behind the divider. I'm pretty sure that the people who got nose-bleed seats last night are people with their number in the 300xxx range or higher so I'm not worried.
My number is in the low 100s, and I sat in the 300 level rafters.

Sure it's been said on here already, but higher fanclub member numbers aren't going to get the best seats most likely, especially in a city like Chicago where tons of people go to see them. I think what happened on Sunday was an exception, and not the rule. Most fanclubs only get a certain number of seats to reserve going through Ticketmaster, and obviously the high demand for Sunday exceeded that limit. There's only so much fanclubs in general can do with Ticketmaster and their ticketing policies. That fanclub ticket limit is going to be in place for ANY band you see in a TM venue; it's not just a Pearl Jam issue. So I would argue that you should probably be calling or emailing TM with your concerns, also. It's definitely more productive than to be complaining here and waiting for Santos or whomever to potentially explain what happened, which they're not obligated to do. It does spell out pretty clearly in the emails we all get before tickets go on sale that they do their best to get everyone seats, based on fanclub seniority.
I'm just happy I get to see them play, even if I have to drive six hours to get there. The shows are always so much fun.Target Center - Jun 30, 1998

So, is Santos a representative of 10C?
If so, can you please give an explanation for the Sunday 10C seating debacle?
Here is why you need to do this: people are really pissed. MANY, MANY people traveled to that show, and got upper deck, way in back seats, when day of show there were decent seats on TM. Trust me, NO ONE around me in 303 was happy. They may not be posting their disappointment here, but there were a lot of very unhappy people. This incident tends to throw into doubt any reason to travel to ANY show with 10C tickets. Put yourself in the shoes of the people who traveled for days and spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Imagine going into the venue, up three escalators, and out to your seats, and realizing that 95% of the people in the building had better tickets. You can't blame people for being pissed. These are hard core fans, not someone who liked "Alive" fifteen years ago and are checking PJ off their band bucket list.
If the explanation is that someone fucked up, fine. Just let everyone know that this is *not* going to be what to expect going forward.Love is deep...dig it out...0 -
