regular 3 star gets you embassy suites center city for like 60 to 70
Do you know how that place is, because I am having zero fucking luck on the 4 star rating in downtown Philly.
embassy suites in center city is nice. it's on the parkway so you'll have a great view of (what i think is) the coolest street in the city...it's right in center city so there's easy access to everything. plus it's right across the street from my office so i'll wave to you from the brown skyscraper across the street!

I know a lot of people were looking for downtown and from what I hear the traffic sucks around my hotel, but I plan on using public transportation and 80 bucks a night for a three star with an indoor pool and free parking ain't half bad.

It must be everything going on in Philly that weekend. I looked on Orbitz and saw that several hotels are listed as sold out.

no way a hotel in that location should be ranked as high as 3 stars...not the nicest part of town. and as has been mentioned in this thread...give yourself ample time to get to the shows...traffic sucks in that area

you can check out the hotels before bidding. go to priceline and plug in downtown Philly and 3 stars or above and see what the selection looks like before you do the name your own price thing.
just scanning the downtown hotels, the 3's don't look bad to me. even getting into the 2's would be ok in my book.
