I was thinking about the CZ, the H&K MP5, Sig MPX or Beretta Cx4.

Any experience or opinions on those.

Anything H&K does is nice. The full auto MP5 is a sick gun. 35rd clips in 2 seconds. Crazy.

    Beautiful gun and expensive.

    Cheaper route is HK95

Have had a lot of OT the last three months. Have four new items in the safe. Smith and Wesson M&P shield .45, Sig Sauer P320 compact, Canik TP9SF Elite, and a BCM complete lower. More to come at tax return time

Got one off gunbroker for 530 including transfer fees. There is a seller on there called Northern Firearms that have pretty descent deals. Getting extra magazines for it is pretty costly. About 40-45 shipped per mag. Ouch

So about a year ago I bought a DPMS G2 Recon .308 rifle and put a Leupold scope on it with the CDS dial on it. My intention was to use it on a hog hunt. Wasn't able to make it out last year on any hog hunts but the state I live in just opened up .308 for deer hunting. So I've been out three times this year, only seeing one deer and got to trigger shy to take a shot. Went out yesterday and harvested two deer. First one was at 500 yards and took him down where he stood with one shot. The second took four shots with two on target but that one was 300 yards away. Definitely the longest distance I've taken a shot at anything besides targets. Made me a believer of AR10 style rifles as well as calibrated scopes.

The 308 Win. is a capable round in capable hands.

That DPMS is supposed to be the best of the best in AR-10's.

Good call and congrats on the deer.

Thanks bro. What other AR10s do you think are good quality? Thinking about getting another one down the road. Off the top of my head I remember hearing good stuff on Midwest Industries AR10!

I don't know anything about the MI. The Ruger SR-762 and S&W M&P 10 are both supposed to be decent for the money.

LWRC made a model, SASS I think, that is highly regarded in precision shooting circles.

I have a friend who owns a Remington R30. He swears that it's the most accurate .30, semi-auto out there.

There are more choices in AR-10s now than ever before. The DPMS GII is light, accurate and reliable. It would be my pick if I were in the market.

Has anyone here had any experience with the 6.5 Creedmoor?

This cartridge seems to be all the rage for long range shooting.

I've never shot it or known anyone that does. I'm interested but don't want to add anymore calibers to the collection.

    7.62x54
    9mm

I feel the same way. There seems to be a lot going for the 6.5 but the 308 is so damn versatile.

we don't have those long distance shots here in nj or ny so the 6.5 is not really worth it for me. 30.06 is my choice.

I'm starting to look at Sigs. Preferably concealable

Sig P229 and P320 compact or subcompact are nice carry guns

I also never have a problem finding .308 ammo. 6.5 is only at a few spots around me

I don't know how concealable it is but I handled a P227 a couple years ago and was damn impressed.

That brings up a big factor for me: availability of ammo. If I can't find ammo at convenient places local to me, I probably won't buy anything chambered for it.

Just read an article about a Daniel Defense AR-10 and LWRCI's Compact SASS submission to the military trial. Both look like top notch rifles. The LWRCI shot 1/2 MOA groups. It costs over 4k.

I would imagine both of those are a pretty penny. LWRC and DD are top end manufactures. I love the DPMS G2. I am just thinking of adding another rifle to the collection without breaking the bank. Probably won't be for another year so I'll have time to do some research.

Why the need for 80+ guns, 10,000 roads and gun powder?? Is that your specific question?

Yup. I'd hate to live next door to this guy specifically in the event his house caught on fire but you know, 2nd amendment and all.

Guess you would have to get his take. I'm sure there are "gun people" out there that could pick out 80 or more guns that they would like to own. The 10,000 rounds don't alarm me at all. I know people with far less guns that are close to that number. For this guy it comes down to about 125 rounds for each gun.
