Bruce to play Count Basie Theatre May 7

Bruce Springsteen is currently touring arenas, and will present three shows at Giants Stadium this summer. But fans -- the lucky few who are able to get tickets, anyway -- will be able to see him up close and personal at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank on May 7.

The show, titled "An Evening with Bruce Springsteen," will be a benefit for the theater itself, helping to offset renovation and restoration costs. A portion of the proceeds will also support other theater programs.

Springsteen has made several notable appearances at past benefit concerts held at the Basie, for various causes. His wife, Patti Scialfa, serves on the board of the Basie Foundation, and as honorary chairwoman of its Capital Campaign.

Tickets will be made available through an online auction beginning March 20 at countbasietheatre.org. Instructions on how the auction will work will be provided on the web site that day.
