the bottom line is the majority of americans would rather vote for a republican that will upend their lives, upend the economy, take away programs they are benefitting from, and commit felonies in plain sight before they would ever, ever vote for a democrat.

it is just that simple. most americans are ungettable for the dems, yet people on here beg and plead for dems to waste their time and money going after people that they can't get.

    it is asinine.

  • Better not run on tying your repub candidate to CCOOTWH and the policies of Herr Miller. From Letter From An American:

Tonight, Democrat James Walkinshaw easily won the special election to replace the late Representative Gerry Connolly (D-VA). According to Elliott Morris of Strength in Numbers, the district has swung 16 percentage points toward the Democrats since the 2024 election.

  • From the winning dem candidate’s campaign page:

Since his election to the Board of Supervisors in 2019, James has focused on solving everyday problems for the communities he represents and making real progress on issues that matter. On the Board, he has led efforts to ban guns from libraries and rec centers, improve pay and benefits for working families, extend tax relief to seniors and military families, fight climate change, and keep our local environment clean and healthy.

James was Congressman Connolly’s Chief of Staff during Donald Trump’s first term and knows what it takes to fight Trump and win. When James and the Board of Supervisors refused to turn our local police into Trump’s mass deportation force, Trump’s henchman Stephen Miller threatened him with jail time. James didn’t back down. And when he was attacked by Trump’s EPA Administrator for his initiative to reduce plastic pollution in our local environment, James doubled down and pressed forward.

Perhaps run on the four major new laws Biden signed and demonstrating their benefits to swing states?

Perhaps demonstrating trumps role in the demise of the supply chain during Covid’s first year that led to inflation?

Perhaps running so many ads documenting facts like this so often that everyone is familiar with them, instead of spending their billions on the usual personality attack ads that people are trained to ignore?

Perhaps stop wasting time on a campaign attacking trump for being a bad person, something they should have known would fail and make them look like “just another bad politician”

I'm liking the shadow quote style, thanks!!
Yea, because running on shit from four years ago is a sure fire way to win elections. Stupid can’t remember yesterday, nevermind four years ago. Brandon who?

Do your comments need any preparation to be so wrong? I’m talking about drawing a line from what started inflation to the current problem, during the campaign.

Lerxst is all over the map with their blame the democrats for everything bullshit. Complains about how Harris became the nominee in the absence of a true primary race, failing to mention the time frame and chalking it up to the Brandon Deep State and yet complains bitterly about AOC and Mamdani, both of whom took on the establishment Dems, who they also complain about, and won respective primaries. Then they also complain about the dems stifle any dissent and aren’t an open, big tent party. And rather than hold those truly responsible accountable, those who voted CCOOTWH, blames Dems for their lack of policies that help average people and their lack of messaging. You can’t make this shit up.

Seems you are confused about a simple concept. Democrats were given no choice on its eventual nominee, and were left with a candidate who literally received zero votes for national office before her campaign.
( This immediately after Dems lost all credibility for what almost all political experts call the worst presidential debate performance in modern times, which validated a year long attack from republicans about Bidens health).

vs AOC and Mamdani who believe in targeting democrats for defeat that don’t agree with their extreme world view, hence stifling dissent. Unless you think swing states are going to be supporting socialist candidates.

Voters, from all parties, were given a choice last November. And a majority voted stupid.

Bernie is also a democratic socialist. And he nearly got to the white house. Many thought he was robbed of it by the DNC. So an extremist almost became president?

It’s a stretch to say he almost won in 2016. He was competitive for the nomination in 2016,but Hillary won 34 contests to his 23. He won mainly small dem states and many red ones. There’s a psychology to that, when the state is not on a bigger stage politically, the left can move farther left in that state. He lost most of the key dem state races.

Perhaps we could agree the country was in a much different place politically in 2016, coming off 8 fairly successful Obama years, and the young vote was in its corner in a huge way. They were a lock for the popular vote, trounced Rs with the young vote and many demos. Most of that was not true last year.

The far left has changed significantly since then, dems are slipping with young voters, and a few key topics they champion, imo, will not sell in a general election, nor in one of the 7 key upcoming senate elections the Dems need all 7 swing seats to win in next three years to take the upper chamber. (Need to hold four swing seats they currently have plus replace the three red seats they just lost).

Maybe they can beat Collins with a far left candidate, but it’s challenging to come up with 2 let alone 7.  Eight if they lose the next general election

Bernie also had no backing from establishment dems and the party put their finger on the scale. Hillary was the better candidate, but what Bernie accomplished should have been given more consideration as Dems moved forward after that (and in some cases it was).

He got a second chance in 2020, and lost fair and square to a moderate version of Biden.

if he were younger, your big thing today, he’d have a decent chance at the nom in 28, as the party has since moved more left. But the country clearly hasn’t. Give Vance a decent economy and he’d demolish him.

You give the people what Bernie is offering and it moves leftward again. The country doesn't know what it wants other than to feel taken care of and supported.

In this country? Taken care of? Since 2016 the country has undoubtedly moved in the direction opposite of Bernie’s, outside of liberal enclaves. Can’t wait to see what our boy Mamdani does for NY.

I don't think the people know what they want other than wanting to feel like they are special and taken care of. I think theres a lot of people who are not beholden to the 2 teams. They want to know what are you gonna do for them. Progressive policies are polices that seek to do something for the larger population.

Again, Mamdani's NY specific policies aren't gonna translate outside of NYC, but his approach and the underlying concepts of giving the people what they/need will.

because you keep mentioning him, I read up on some of his policies yesterday. I was a little taken aback by, mainly, the government owned grocery stores. At first I was like "no thanks" but the more I read up on it, it sounds like a pretty decent idea.

    Thoughts?
Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer
