It really doesn't matter where you started the line. When the mafia showed in numbers they would set up in a different spot and tell you that their line is only real line. They will use whatever contacts they have within PJ or Arena security to make it so.
I had this in NYC as I was high off the Apollo show and I could not sleep so I went to MSG talked to the security guard and they helped me sort out where the merch line was. They helped me out and I chilled out for a bit but just wanted to know. Went back to my room changed clothes and got a blanket and my buddy woke up and we went back down around 4 am. When we got there we met some other fans and lined up. We were there for about an hour and this group of 20 shows up and says we were in “the other merch line”. What?! Ok so now how does that work? People in front of me were pissed and then there was a tussle on how to sort this out. At the end of the day everyone got what they wanted but yep. Cluster.

    Ive seen this since 2000.
    Literally the same folks.
It has to be a number thing

It’s not. It’s getting in line early. In many cases two days early. About 20-25 regular people including myself are willing to do this. There are no lists and no cutting the line that I have seen in terms of the people up front. We follow pretty strict rules about maintaining our spots. I have seen people being sent to the back of the line for going back to their hotel overnight, etc. Some people may think we are crazy for doing this but we are not entitled, we are not cheating the system, we are not rail mafia. We are just people willing to put more time and effort and planning into getting the rail than others. There is really not much more to it. And yes, sometimes issues crop up even amongst ourselves but there is no evil plot to keep others from the rail.

I think part of the issue is that @Chrrie and I are the few people from the regular campers that are active on the forum. So many of you forum regulars don’t know the others. But most of you know who I am and I hope my explanation helps a little.
the big qurstion is how you all get GA for every show when most of us go years without winning it.
That's always been my question. the math just doesn't add up for the same people to get GA every show.  no matter how many accounts they might be sharing the chances of a percentage of say 50 accounts winning GA to every show is very very low.   There have to be thousands of accounts who put in for GA for each show.  No way a percentage of the same 50 or so are winning every time.

There are always tickets around if you work at it. Getting GA for every show doesn't seem that strange to me if you are networking here or on Facebook and putting in the time. But manipulating the line to be "first" show after show? That comes off a little creepy.

Maybe PJ needs to do what OKC is doing for home NBA playoff games and institute a policy that you can only get GA if you are a resident of said state or one of the neighboring states. No more traveling rail that's the same every show and more local fans who only get to see the band 1x a decade because they can't afford to travel every tour.

Release any leftovers day of the show at the box office.

    It's a hopeless situation...

It's an idea, but PJ fans travel. Ed asked the crowd Sunday who was from Pittsburgh, who was from Pennsylvania, and who was from somewhere else. The third group was by far the largest and loudest. That's a Pearl Jam crowd.

Especially when the lead singer wrote a song about an obsessed fan. Nothing like seeing the same obsessive fans in the front row every show. He should dedicate Lukin to them.

I can only speak for myself. I got GA for two shows in the lottery. My ticket buddy got GA for three shows in the lottery. I ended up not being able to go to one of the shows that I got in the lottery, so that was four shows where the tickets I used came from the lottery. Then I traded a reserved seat for a GA for one show. The person I traded with preferred seats over GA. I also traded my reserved FL2 seats for Pitt2 GA with a friend who couldn't make Pitt, but could go to Florida. I didn't need those Florida seats since my ticket buddy got GA for those. For the other two shows, two different friends had an extra GA that they offered me. Over the years I have made a lot of nice friends here. I don't just interact with people here about tickets. I am active on a lot of different threads here and have been involved in a really nice network of people who help each other out. We text each other off this site, and keep in touch between tours, and have friendships that are not only about the band.

I also helped people get GA this tour as well. At the last minute my friend could not go to Florida. He texted me to ask if I knew anyone who wanted his tickets. I set him up with a friend of mine to drop a link and they got them. Since I ended up not being able to attend Raleigh, I gave my GA tickets that I got in the lottery to friends. We all help each other out. I have seen it over and over again on the forum.

Every interaction I had with GA tickets this year was through friends I personally know from this forum or from meeting at different shows, etc. I did not have to share logins with random people, etc. This is not the case every year, but this is how I got my GA's this year.

Also, those two GA shows I got in the lottery was the first time I ever got GA from the lottery. That was very exciting.

@GlowGirl -  do you feel like you are being selfish being front row so much?   You can say you put the time in, but now if a local or traveling fan is okay lining up a day early, then the group goes to lining up two days early.   That is selfish behavior in my view.

Not trying to be mean or anything.   Like I said previously, this doesn’t matter at all.
I am fine answering your question. I don't feel selfish at all. I am following the rules of first come first served. I don't make the rules, and I am not breaking any rules. As mentioned, there are only about 20-25 people who camp out. The rail will hold at least 40 or more depending on the venue. There were people on the rail that came very early morning day of show. They won't get the center area, but they can get rail. I spend months planning everything out in order to do this.

Also, I went for most of the years seeing this band never getting GA. I always wanted it. 2022 was my first GA. Camden was my first rail. I decided that I wanted to try camping in Fort Worth. I had so much fun that I just continued with it. I can't feel selfish for something I work hard for. I am not just sauntering up and grabbing a spot on the rail.

Also, in 2024 I did 9 shows and had 3 shows in seats. This was my first year that I had GA for every show. So, I am going to go for it when I can. Those who know me well will attest that I am the least selfish person. I am actually quite generous. But I do believe in working hard for the things I want, and going for it.

At this point I think I have said everything I can say in this thread. Since most of the regular campers don't post much here, I think @chrrie and I have taken on the role of trying to defend and explain the accusations against our friends. At this point, I think I have said everything I can say about this topic. So, I hope you all understand a bit better.

dont feel bad...lot of this is tongue n cheek, we are bored ...some jealous

but the #d bracelets just alleviates 90% of this, until they create a scalpers market to guarantee rail..no perfect system, but perfection shouldnt be the goal

On Sunday we were what I thought was pretty close on Stone's side for most of the show. Ran to the bathrooms during DTE, then took a spot in back...only to discover we were only 4 or 5 spots from where we had started.

I'm sorry, but that comment came out as mean, even if you had no intention to sound so. Nothing GG has said here sounds remotely selfish, and since I got to meet and hang with her - if van attest she has not done anything selfish on the line or the pit. You should get to know her. You'll see. She's such a lovely and friendly lady!

Definitely not selfish. As she said, she prepares and puts in the work. Whether your local or not, you need to be prepared to camp out on the sidewalk for a couple nights if you want to be up front. I know for me, personally, that is absolutely not something that I am willing to do lol. And if lots of people start showing up 2 days early, I can only assume the "rail mafia" will start lining up 3 days early lol.

I do hope that those 30-40 people who are on the rail have all been camping out and not being allowed in by friends or those in "control". I think that's what people are saying is happening.

And leaving show 1 early so you can be right back up front again for show 2 seems ridiculously silly to me. But if it works for them, have at it.
