Israel. If the Dems had condemned what's going on there, they'd have probably picked up some hard left "not voting for genocide" votes.

It sucks because the Dems are probably done as a key player nationally. For all the right-wing whining about mainstream media, the robber barons that actually control the narrative are just too much to overcome. Meanwhile they're picking the pockets of their base and convincing them that their real problem is transgendered athletes.

As far as the unfortunate war in Your third bullet point, go grab some you tube videos of trumps campaign comments about Israel. He ran very hard pro Israel. Before the current war, that’d be a million miles from where I was politically. Point being, he had strong language which should have drawn out the hate Israel crowd, but he had the best popular vote total by a republican in a long time. Before this election, it was predicted Rs would never win the popular vote again.

I don’t recall anyone claiming repubs would never win another general vote total. That’s crazy talk. They are doing everything to ensure that they do, though.

If anything what Bernie and AOC are speaking to is what Americans really want. Something the current Dems (and certainly not republicans) want to discuss. Wether its attainable financially or not is besides the point. They are popular positions among Americans. They are appealing to the majority. That is something neither party has done as a whole and led us to the deep divisions we have.

Those remind me of the ACA polls where voters love the individual policies but hate Obamacare. When it’s getting cooler, and the leaves are falling, they just ain’t voting for it in purple and red states. I I I’d love to be…alive when that changes but I doubt it does before Stone hangs up his stage guitar for the last time

The democrats are becoming untouchable in about 27 states. If AOC ran on these policies, I’d be surprised if she reached 200 electoral votes. All a republican would need to say is blah blah blah free market, or blah blah blah socialism, and we’d get a landslide. There’s a reason that crap works in the fall, If these policies were popular, the political landscape would look much different in this country.

Lex, YES, it's true that many didn't see how the GOP would win a majority general election again. And they said that because we used to say "demographics are destiny" and the growing black and hispanic populations would carry the D's into the future. It's true, this was said. And it's true that is clearly wrong. But the fact that was wrong is exactly why your doom and gloom is wrong as well. You just can't wrap your head around how the D's win again. You make it sound fatal, but it was just as fatal for the R's only a few years ago. That's why I am not hang wringing like you.

I mean, you need someone to RUN on these policies first. Then we’d have definitive proof if they are electable policies or not.

That they are seen as not doing anything to push back on Trump other than writing strongly worded letters from Schumer. I’m not saying it’s a big deal if this person gets the ambassadorship, but at least look like you are doing something so you can campaign on it.
