yeah or evaluate how "efficient" it is to spend millions for the president to attend a football game...that's why no other president has attended. It's too fucking expensive and too risky due to security issues.tempo_n_groove said:I'm curious as to why, if they, DOGE, really want to save money, look at what we spend the most on? Military.
They ae looking to shut down bases which makes zero sense to me. Those are strategic places of interest. Unless u want to nuke everyone we need those bases.
or....how efficient is it to travel to maralago every weekend and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel, room and board, for secret service agents. There should be an allowance that, if exceeded, falls back on Mr Moneybags. Let him pay for it like he said he would eight years ago.
My attitude is that of Benjs, there's little we can do about it now besides hope for the best, but that doesn't make the willful ignorance any less frustrating.

I get that but it doesn't matter that an independent source is looking into it. There isn't anything in the constitution that would prevent DOGE from looking into where money is mishandled. That was the whole point in the first place.0 -
That s partially true. If it is constitutional then it cant be blocked.tbergs said:

An EO is not supposed to be able to retroactively veto a bill signed by a president. It’s not in the Constitution, but Musk and his pack if shithead kids are violating several laws, the Privacy Act being one. The problem is what’s the enforcement mechanism? A stern letter from dems won’t be it.tempo_n_groove said:mickeyrat said:tempo_n_groove said:I'm curious as to why, if they, DOGE, really want to save money, loyok at what we spend the most on? Imagine if Biden had just plucked someone (Soros? One of the women from the View? Mark Cuban?) and their band of anonymous worker bees to do this. I don't know about the "Imagine if..." There was a lot of "What about Trump" the last four years. I'm sure skimming through the numerous threads that are Trump threads and the numerous threads that detoured / deflected in to bringing Trump into them would bear that out. Like this is some method he would use (or something similar), but it's okay because it would advance our cause. Pack the court, as an example.
So now we'll get four years of "What about Biden?" from Trump's party to deflect.
Lovely.

I love how "pack the court" was scandalous but McConnell changing the rules for when an outgoing president gets to appoint was cool. But we cannot look back. MAGA is now and forever the only party.

I neither thought packing the court was scandalous, nor did I think McConnell's actions were cool.
But that post seems like an example of what I'm talking about.
It's okay that we do abc because they did xyz.
I can't imagine any Democrat that wanted to pack the Supreme Court during the past four years would be okay if Trump did it. I know I wouldn't.1993: 11/22 Little Rock
