They ae looking to shut down bases which makes zero sense to me.  Those are strategic places of interest.  Unless u want to nuke everyone we need those bases.
yeah or evaluate how "efficient" it is to spend millions for the president to attend a football game...that's why no other president has attended. It's too fucking expensive and too risky due to security issues.

or....how efficient is it to travel to maralago every weekend and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel, room and board, for secret service agents. There should be an allowance that, if exceeded, falls back on Mr Moneybags. Let him pay for it like he said he would eight years ago.
& people are still going to try to have good faith conversations that these guys are looking to reign in wasteful spending despite all this evidence to the contrary.

My attitude is that of Benjs, there's little we can do about it now besides hope for the best, but that doesn't make the willful ignorance any less frustrating.
If after all these years of Trump a person is still demonstrating willful ignorance, just don’t bother engaging. These are people who have shown themselves unwilling to engage logically, or even civilly.
    I'm working on it.
    It's not easy.

you should read the constitution   it says the Congress is in charge of budgetary matters. executive gets involved when its time to sign a bill or veto a bill.

    this is government 101

I get that but it doesn't matter that an independent source is looking into it.  There isn't anything in the constitution that would prevent DOGE from looking into where money is mishandled.  That was the whole point in the first place.

A bunch of people who don't know how to run a government have come in with nothing but ideology, addiction to twitter praise, and conflicts of interest. This has absolutely nothing to do with government efficiency.
And then you get Vance basically saying, the judiciary has no right to stop executive action. What a fuck wad. It just confuses the already dim bulbs supporting this bullshit. Mission accomplished.
That s partially true.  If it is constitutional then it cant be blocked.

An EO is not supposed to be able to retroactively veto a bill signed by a president. Even if that president is Sleepy Joe.

It’s not in the Constitution, but Musk and his pack if shithead kids are violating several laws, the Privacy Act being one. The problem is what’s the enforcement mechanism? A stern letter from dems won’t be it.

Imagine if Biden had just plucked someone (Soros? One of the women from the View? Mark Cuban?) and their band of anonymous worker bees to do this. All the people praising it right now would have been outraged (and rightly so).

That’s exactly what Brandon did. That’s why they call it the “deep state.” You didn’t hear or know about it, right? Exactly.

I don't know about the "Imagine if..." There was a lot of "What about Trump" the last four years. I'm sure skimming through the numerous threads that are Trump threads and the numerous threads that detoured / deflected in to bringing Trump into them would bear that out. Like this is some method he would use (or something similar), but it's okay because it would advance our cause. Pack the court, as an example.

So now we'll get four years of "What about Biden?" from Trump's party to deflect.

    Lovely.

I love how "pack the court" was scandalous but McConnell changing the rules for when an outgoing president gets to appoint was cool. But we cannot look back. MAGA is now and forever the only party.

except that independent source has major conflicts of interests here. has no clearance to access these systems, is illegally downloading said systems and is apparently using AI to write into these systems unvetted code.

further would seem to be very cozy with enemies of the united states.

and you're seemingly ok with this.

I neither thought packing the court was scandalous, nor did I think McConnell's actions were cool.

But that post seems like an example of what I'm talking about.

It's okay that we do abc because they did xyz.

I can't imagine any Democrat that wanted to pack the Supreme Court during the past four years would be okay if Trump did it. I know I wouldn't.

Ok,  I hear you.  I used the word "pack" in error. Was it "expand the court" and then appointing liberal judges in that expansion that people were calling for the last four years?

I can't imagine any Democrat that wanted to expand the Supreme Court and appoint liberal judges during the past four years would be okay if Trump, in the next four years, expanded the Supreme Court and appointed conservative judges. I know I wouldn't.

DOGE is accessing things the government already has, our information.  I'm not losing my mind over something thats in the governments possession already.

The things he wasn't allowed to get into the courts blocked him from doing so. That is working still thankfully.

At this point I can jump up and down about whats going on all i want and it is going to do absolutely nothing.  I can't change any of this.  All i can do is hope that the courts keep doing their jobs and lawmakers on the hill have some sort of a spine and do something.

What i did find interesting is that Bannon hates Musk.  That was a shocker for me.

That was a shocker for me.
and again its going onto the hands of unvetted people who are hackers by trade. to be used for who knows what.

and the courts got involved after week 2. they had been through several agencies at that point.

and I personally am more concerned about changes to computer code than anything else.

I'm curious as to why, if they, DOGE, really want to save money, loyok at what we spend the most on?  Military.
They ae looking to shut down bases which makes zero sense to me.  Those are strategic places of interest.  Unless u want to nuke everyone we need those bases.

you should read the constitution   it says the Congress is in charge of budgetary matters. executive gets involved when its time to sign a bill or veto a bill.

    this is government 101

I get that but it doesn't matter that an independent source is looking into it.  There isn't anything in the constitution that would prevent DOGE from looking into where money is mishandled.  That was the whole point in the first place.

except that independent source has major conflicts of interests here. has no clearance to access these systems, is illegally downloading said systems and is apparently using AI to write into these systems unvetted code.

further would seem to be very cozy with enemies of the united states.

and you're seemingly ok with this.
