I'm seeing more and more shows happen there. Oasis, System of a Down and Avenged Sevenfold.... It would be neat, but when was the last time PJ played a NFL stadium...?
What does that have to do with anything?

Yeah idk. Several shows get played there every summer.
  • I heard from a very reliable source (sorry can’t give it away) that PJ is playing Soldier Field this summer.

Honestly, it doesn’t make any sense to me. Because they just played Chicago in 2023 and 2024.

But it’s a very credible source.

    Anyone else hear anything?
@yellowled81 Can you share what part of the summer earlier/middle/later etc..?

I would be there for that.
As for Soldier Field, if the Bears move, then they will just fix that stadium up so the Chicago Fire and Red Stars could play there, without that massive weird upper deck. (I hope)

They don't play NFL stadiums. That's what it has to do with anything. Let me condense my statement. I don't believe they're going to play Soldier Field.

I do like how they seem to make the sports rounds in Chicago. Might as well do all arenas and Comiskey as well.
Yes... let's use the White Sox stadium for something useful for a change. :)

There was a long time before 2016 when people would argue that PJ couldn't sellout baseball stadiums. That they would never play them.

Definitely preferred to Wrigley. 3 consecutive years is a little hard to believe though..
if it was gonna happen anywhere, it would be Chicago

Yep, and then they announced that ‘13 Wrigley show, and a lot of people were saying “oh, it might be pretty well sold, but no way they sell it out”, and then it was the fastest sellout there to that point. Then people said “well, its only because there were no East Coast shows.” So they come back in ‘16 and sell out TWO shows, among many other shows, including East Coast. This is a very popular rock band, and has been for 34 plus years, and their biggest fans think they are some indie group or something. It is NOT the same 15,000 people going to every show, try to digest that……..

Sure hope they never do the Linc in Philly.  Maybe could get on board with Citizens Bank but I’d imagine since they haven’t played there yet and as good as the Philly and last Camden show was they’d be in no hurry to play either

Wouldn’t be upset with a Soldier Field show if they either:
    1. Use massive venues to do 3-hour shows again, but spaced far apart
    2. Use it as a way to create a mini-fest with 3-4 openers to make it more of a destination event

I didn’t think PJ could sell out the stadiums they did on the recent Aus tour, but they did, twice over!

A few mentioning PJ35. What’s the significance of 35 years?
