I was in the pit, initial reaction is that was top 2 crowds I’ve ever been a part of out of 43 shows. The first 7 songs was absolutely insane. Release, Garden, Present Tense and Porch were so fucking loud. The entire floor was shaking during Porch. A lot of hits but what a fucking night

Sonic Reducer might have been the highlight

Eddie at the very end: “best fucking night ever”

  • First show since 2018 and I’m glad I tempered my expectations.  Crowd was truly great and I thoroughly enjoyed the show even though it was mostly hits.  If this is the future of Pearl Jam I will still see them every chance I get.  30+ song shows with a bunch of unique songs are in the past but hopefully they can keep it in the 24-26 range with a surprise or two.

    have a great night all!

The pit looked crazy from where I was sitting. Floor was shaking.
  • Very good energy this gig, which might be expected from a hits heavy set list.  I have the most fun at shows like this but the rare ones feel more special and leave more indelible memories.  So really a win-win.  Anyway this was a big hits heavy set, and I think the band just likes the energy of NY and what they can get out of them.

Sonic reducer was great (wish Ed skipped the long speech about 9/11 and unity in these decisive times afterwards or of course just moved it because SR into RVM uninterrupted would have been insane from a crowd energy perspective)

was getting worried about curfew but laughed when Ed said they added an extra Canada show to pay for the MSG fine.  Serious question:  if it’s going to cost you a quarter million dollars, why not just come on stage at 8:40 and play the exact same length?  Doesn’t matter to me but just… I was always curious.

i thought the first six songs were a really strong start and despite the slower nature, the energy in the building was great!  There was a song where Ed I think either missed some lyrics or cut out but I couldn’t be sure because the singing was so loud (that always is a mark of a good show when that happens here and there!)

RITFW was indeed rocking.  Purple Rain is fine as a novelty:  I’m good with it being one and done.

Really good show.  Of my MSG shows I’d say ultimately middle of the pack.  The one with Slow Lukin was the most insane to me.  But I had a really fun time singing and enjoying the energy.  And I also love Chloe/ crown of thorns!

Wow. Worth the premium price tag. Ed orchestrated a great set that made it feel lile the songs were appropriate and in the right spots. I didn't think alive would play well but the progression of the show was magic and was an amazing finish.  Yes RITFW into SSB was tremendous.

By far the most powerful version of release I've heard on any boot or in person. The emotional response during the first 3 was unreal.

The crowd and emotions carried through a lackluster encore. The same few songs for encores for all of 2021 and 2022 is a bit stale. Luckily the crowd energy made this one great. Any other date then today and it's safe to peace out at encore break and beat traffic. Scrubing dte for a rarity would have fit really nice. They need to get a rarity in the encore to make it worth sticking around going forward

Purple rain is way cooler then I thought it would be. I liked it a lot they do it justice.

Just an emotional roller coaster of a weekend and what a night cap.

Extremely solid show. Those first 7 songs out the box set the tone for the night. ComeBack extremely emotional and into Present…special.

Wow. Just wow. I mean when you are having the internal debate of “was this their best MSG show to date?” it’s a sign that this was an absolutely earth shattering show.  I was dead center pit about 15 feet back and it was a religious experience. Love this band / love this city / so grateful. What a weekend with this and Apollo!! See you in Camden, Nashville and Denver!  Thank you PJ.

  • Amazing show. First time I can recall that they started tuning songs down to accommodate Ed. Previously he’s power through a tough one or let fans fill in blanks. They’d never done tune down  in memory. Dissident was definitely tuned down. The riff was almost unrecognizable. Even flow like w half step down. Always viewed Ed’s voice like a tank, would never tune down and he’s sing in original key. Guess it’s impossible for him on some songs.

Got my ticket FINALLY (after many, many tries over two years) at 3:15 pm from an awesome member, hopped in the car, drove to NJ to grab the train. Found out the guy who got me into the band in 2008 was gonna be there. And just a row in front of me! An awesome fellow fan let me sit in that row so I could finally see a show with him. My 26th!!

The first 7 songs were incredible. The entire night was amazing and I really loved Sonic Reducer!

    Onto Camden Wednesday!

Yeah, absolutely crazy crowd energy tonight. We were behind the stage and the place was quite literally bouncing for most of the night. Yes, there were a lot of hits, but it was a high-energy show.

While many of us, myself included, expected to hear Long Road tonight, it actually was quite moving to have Mike finish the evening with the national anthem.

We ended up grabbing tickets on Stubhub this morning, after finding ourselves in Manhattan for the weekend. We’re both so glad we went, despite the secondary market markup.

  • Epic show. Amazing crowd!! The energy and sense of community was perfect for a show on 9/11. Loved Ed showering the love on early responders. This is my 46th (I think) show and easily in my top 5 and probably top 3 of MSG shows. They never let us down in the garden! Denver is next for me and I can’t wait!!

  • I forgot to add that I met PK Subban in the back of the GA pit. He was around a lot.
Venus, Serena and her husband, were first row side stage. Saw Venus with Jill during Rockin

I can't put into words what this night meant to me. It was legit my birthday and this was just beyond special. I love this band and crew and msg crew and just literally love everyone

  • Overall great, enjoyable show. My first show in 6 years. Release Garden Comeback Present Tense is just a tremendous opening. Porch being 5th put everyone on their toes. Band sounded great and crowd was absolutely electric. So much credit to them for performing at the level they do at their age, but you can tell they’re on the wrong side of the hill with the amount of minor blips in some of the songs like Even Flow. Star Spangled banner was quite emotional. Overall just amazing to see this band in the best venue in the world in a special day
