I am devastated, but not surprised. So in two days this court gave more people the right to carry and conceal guns, and took away the right to a safe and legal abortion for many. Tragedy all around.

I've thought this was inevitable since listening to this podcast back in May - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-yale-law-professor-who-is-anti-roe-but-pro-choice/id1570872415?i=1000560474755

Really informative listen where the host interviews a Yale law professor who's anti-Roe and also pro-Choice, and has quoted extensively in Supreme Court rulings.

So it’s back to the states to decide.  Therefore, it needs to be on ballots to be voted on by every citizen who decides to vote.

hope independents are happy voting for their belief the presidents role in gas prices is more important than womens rights and the ability to have the streets flooded with guns.

just keep “politics” out of the pooch and we’re all good, man. That’s what’s most important to a liberal bands fans anyway.

I’m way past my time of having a child (chose not to) but as a woman — as a human being — I agree with this.

    Incredibly sad.

    Here we go

Justice Clarence Thomas, concurring with the majority ruling, explicitly called on the Supreme Court to overrule Griswold, which protects the right to contraception, Lawrence, the right to same-sex intimacy and Obergefell, the right to same-sex marriage.

    He wants to
    1. Allow states to ban birth control
    2. Allow states to make gay sex a crime punishable by prison
    3. Allow states to outlaw same sex marriage

He said it right in the opinion… in writing
and you can bet many states will do all 3 as soon as they can

First time the court has overturned a constitutional right. Thomas now taking aim at contraception, same sex relationships, and same sex marriage. Hey, CT, wonder what originalists think about interracial marriage.

There's a cliché rooted in all kinds of truth: Every conservative accusation is a confession. They've been whining about "activist judges" for decades. That was the first sign.

if the reverse happened and gun rights were taken away we would have a civil war on our hands.  Surely violent riots, and everyone would be terrified

no one is afraid of what the pro choice people will do. Their reaction was not a factor in the decision, not even a little bit. People are very afraid of the hard right. They also use that fear to get stuff done

I’m not advocating anything but the right absolutely uses intimidation, and it works.

Would Hillary have given us the three stooges of SCOTUS appointments? Don’t know where you live but Bernie’s failure to endorse Hillary and pretending he could beat POOTWH and be elected as a socialist certainly bears responsibility for today’s and future decisions. The Bernie protest voters own this.

A month ago we opened a special savings account.  It’s the fly to Canada/Europe fund in case my sons ever get their partners pregnant and she decides that is what she wants .  My oldest is 9 so we’ve got some time as a nationwide ban is coming

at the end of the day this ruling does nothing…. Unless you can’t afford it. That almost makes it worse as abortion will always be available if you have the resources. Always

it’s really just another poverty tax that keeps people where they are

I just posted the same point on facebook. This is a rule for the poor. no chance these faux lifers won't pay for a back room/out of state abortion for their mistress or daughter should the "need" arise.

Everybody loves nostalgia, right? Well, it looks like we're getting a dose of the past with an evil twist- which is that a little less than half of us didn't want to go there.  Hang on tight folks, it's gonna be a rough ride to the bottom.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
