    That’s rad as hell
i really like the finish. and for some reason i also like that it doesn't have a pickguard.
Right.  It already shows simulated pick wear.
my acoustics have wear at the bass part of the soundhole too. for some reason i do not have scratches on the pickguard so it must be the way i strum. this looks classy as hell.
I have the same issue.  Hopefully it doesn’t t look like Mccready 1960.  Ha.
    lol i know, right?

This is exactly what I was thinking.  Will be cool to see it evolve over time.  The wear just builds character.  So cool!

I bought one of the early Murphy Lab Les Paul's a while back.  It was the light aged version.  The finish is starting to flake off in areas and it looks like mine was part of the bad batch of dark cherry finish.  Hopefully it doesn't get too bad where it doesn't just blend in with the normal aging they put on it, but my fear is I bought a $7k guitar that is probably worth about $2k.  Supposedly Gibson fixed their formula.  I didn't fill out the warranty card and suspect Gibson won't give a crap anyway as I've owned it more than 12 months.   Good news is I love playing the guitar so if the neck and top stay okay, I don't have have to watch the finish on the back and sides completely disappear!

At least you like the guitar, but I would look to see what others are doing about it.  Good luck!

I was watching a Casino Guitar video on the Murphy Lab paint issue, and they say that Gibson is working with customers who have issues.  I would contact Gibson in an email, even if it isn't a problem right now so you have some history if it gets worse.  They said the Gibson custom shop is very helpful so they may get you sorted out just fine.

Haha.  That sounds about right.  I wonder why they can't fix it.  Should be priority #1 or #2, but perhaps until people like me stop buying it they don't have to worry about it.

I love my Little Martin LX1.  I mean, really, really love this guitar.  I am by no means a great guitarist, but every now and then, when this sweet little guitar wants to sing, she uses my old hands better than I could with something less forgiving.  Thank you, Little Martin.

Nice.  They seem like very good value.  They have the 1.625" nut width which I like for getting my thumb.  One of the funny things I've read opinions stating that poplar is a cheap wood ... poplar has decent market value compared to ash.  As for alder, you can't give that stuff away unless a guitar manufacturer is buying it.

Let us know how the build quality is.  Enjoy!
