This is a sincere question: how do you know you will like them if you buy online? Have you tried them out before in person? Or you just know you wanted them for some reason aside from how they play?

With electrics I don’t mind buying online as much.  It would be nice to get a feel of the neck though.  I am not very picky about things though.

I would rather play the acoustics ahead of time but right now where I live and with the backlog there really isn’t a lot of opportunity to play the different models.  Taking more chances for sure but seems like online ordering is the norm these days.

The  stuff I am buying are pretty standard models that have been around a long time so I have  a decent idea of what I am getting.

Lot of nice guitars posted.  Quite a collection you have bootlegger.  I caught the itch to get a new guitar, but I'm going to resist the urge.  I pick up the same guitar every time I play, even though I keep telling myself to play the other two (especially the tele).  It just doesn't happen.  I'm a creature of habit so I'm not going to drop the coin on a new one...for now.

It plays great.  Go get one!

The Martin HD-28 arrived yesterday and I played it this morning. Love it.  Some guitars just feel easier to play than others.

I think your wife may have some news for you...

Martin D-15 looks pretty sweet.  Make sure to ask for a deal when you are ready to buy it.  Good chance you could have them cover the taxes.  I don't ask for deals as much as I should but never got declined when I did ask.  One time I got a call from Sweetwater that they had to put more on my Visa credit card than my Sweetwater card on a purchase and they ended up just writing off the rest (about $200).

At 44 I really don’t need that kind of news lol.

I never thought of asking for a deal, I like it!! Hopefully they run the three year plan soon.

I had the Prodigy and MIJ tele pictured above. Based on what I was told here and saw online, I was asking $500 for the Prodigy and $800 for the tele listing online. I figured I’d end up taking $100 less on each. Got no interest in the Prodigy. Had some low offers on the tele.
So I took them to Guitar Center. They offered me $400 each. Thought that was a decent price for the prodigy, but not the tele. Took them both to a local small store. He offered me $275 for the Prodigy and $750 for the tele. Sold the tele to the local guy (he’s selling for $1300) and the prodigy to GC.
Sharing because I hadn’t even considered checking out music stores, thinking I’d get way low-balled.  But ended up working out. Had I known they would sell the tele for $1300 I probably would have been asking 1k, but seeing as I had no serious offers listing it at $800 it didn’t matter. If you sell something pricey it’s worth checking out.

    Glad it worked out, Mace!

This is a new addition: ESP Ltd Surveyor '87. Since these pictures were taken, I have changed out some of the hardware for chrome. The pickguard is a 3-ply that was left over from my Fender Precision. Otherwise, these things are good to go out of the box. I went to the shop to buy an American Fender but happily left with this one instead. Fender has some stiff competition in the bass market these days.

I played a D15 earlier this week and fell in love with it. I think there's a good chance that I may have found my next guitar.

Little known fact:  Cameron wrote In the Moonlight and Evacuation on a D-15.  Said that the guitar was just made for odd time signatures.
