    OPEC just agreed to increase supply to lower costs on things so hold tight.  It will hopefully get better.

    Oh lord, drove by the gas station yesterday morning and it was like $3.65 and when i came home from work it later that day it went up 10 cents to like $3.75 :angry:

    $1.51 litre here in southern Ontario…expensive no doubt but after getting a big dumping of snow this week it’s hard to complain…my Jeep 4x4 makes getting around in the snow easier…plus I like to hit the back roads in this snow…fun.

    Closing in on $5 a gallon here, but a) that's how it is in California and b) I use Chevron which is more expensive, but it also cuts down on repair and maintenance costs.

    I often feel the same way.  I drive an older ranger, which isn't great on gas, but I use transit to get to work, so most months I only have to buy one tank of gas.  Maybe a little more in the summer for camping adventures.   So the increase in gas prices, while not driving a fuel efficient vehicle, isn't that big on me, because i don't burn much gas.

    So basically the people who drive the most, making the most pollution take the brunt of gas prices.

    I agree, guys.  I've been criticized for saying this before (watch, lol), but honestly, gas being more expensive is not necessarily a bad thing.  Yeah, if it's just lining the pockets of CEOs, not so good.  But in a closer-to-perfect world, if gas were $10 a gallon, some great things would or could happen:
    -People would drive less/ carpool or take transit more.
    -The air would start getting cleaner and global warming would slow down.
    -Trucking would become more a localized thing and rail systems could revitalized.  Trains are the most efficient weigh-per-energy unit of all forms of transportation.  We would be wise to ramp up rail use big time!
    -The extra profits from gas could be used to develop clean energy.

    All of that makes perfectly good sense.  But will any of it happen?

    Make Gas "carbon neutral" by taxing it enough to offset it someway. I understand this is impossible, 

    But the gas prices, which have always been high in Sweden, are always discussed over here. Always. Something the enviromentfriendly-left want to have higher and put money into other options, while the fucktheworldforcapitalism-right want's to lower to get votes.

    And I understand, with Sweden being a country with few big cities and the a huge vast void of forests and smaller towns/villages (in the north) that are dependent on the car, that it is not as easy as just price it into submission. And wait for the swedish Polestar (not Elon Musk) to save us.




    But anywho, stop complaining about gasprices. Such a charmless trait. Try to take the (hopefully electric or biogas) bus if possible. Ride together. Die together.

    Brian if you remember back in 05 when the 2 big hurricanes hit Louisiana gas prices soared.  The SUV was the enemy and people were buying more economic cars and card dealerships couldn't give the big SUV's away.

    If that happens again maybe the trend will turn again that way.

    I'm guessing $5 will be a thing of the past before long.  Not surprised, but glad I get good mileage and don't drive a lot these days.

    my buddy in Fresno told me it was $4.80 something yesterday.  He traded in his Ram for some type of Hybrid last summer.  I'm sure he is really happy about that choice now.
