Yay! I got the no PCR testing get out of jail free card. I can re-enter Canada without testing for 180 days and I can enter the United States within the next 90 days without testing. Perfectly timed I am leaving in 90 days! Weirdly enough the States also requires a health note saying I'm good to go??? Scratches head.
Drat, I should have done the Vedder Seattle lottery now that I can cross the line without fear of a negative test blowing up plans.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -
All good, thanks. Ya know what they say, if it doesn't kill me, it'll only make me stronger 😏

I had it in March 2020 - pre-vaccine. I had a fairly mild case. I lost my sense of smell and taste for 5 days and had mild fatigue. I haven’t gotten it again. I am double vaxxed and boosted. I know a small handful of people who have had it. They were all very mild cases. One of my friends was completely asymptomatic.0

Drat, I should have done the Vedder Seattle lottery now that I can cross the line without fear of a negative test blowing up plans.I guess that's an upside for covid. We've figured out our attempt to make it happen. If your double vaxxed you can enter the US without a test. So getting into the US is easy (via land or marine border). The Canada rule is you need a covid test within 72 hours of returning. We're basically going to get a test done in Port Angeles as soon as we take the coho over. Test should be done before we come back. The marine border is currently exempt from the random return testing you need to do at the land border (where random people get tested and have to quarantine for days before getting the result). All things being equal I think this should all work out.. except if I get Covid right before I'm supposed to go.0 -

I'm very lucky. 15 mg plus a meal puts me in a great place. If I don't eat, it doesn't work. I need the digestive tract moving.
you mentioned your heart condition, I take it you don’t smoke or vape? Or do you? I’m a huge believer in cannabis.. but i wanna get to Vegas and try some of what you guys sell…probably better that what the legal market here has…
also in Ontario edibles are capped at 10mg…so I get mine on the black market…
Vegas has good stuff but it can be expensive if you are too close to the strip. Be sure you get off it into the suburbs or something for a better price. Like they will charge $80 for a half gram cart. You can get a full gram for that price anywhere else in NV, CO and even WA. I think CA is pretty expensive too.
VA is not cheap but that's because there is only one licensed store. So it's $50 for 100 mg of edibles, $65 1/8th, $120 a quarter. If I needed 100 mg for edibles that would be untenable. Way too expensive.
prices here in Ontario have really come down at the legal stores…but we have a vibrant black market here in Ontario…I usually get my flower and edibles on the black market but prefer my vape cartridges from the OCS.
I know other people as well with heart issues who quit smoking but still smoke cannabis…Give Peas A Chance…0 -

STOCKHOLM -- Sweden has decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11, the Health Agency said on Thursday, arguing that the benefits did not outweigh the risks.
"With the knowledge we have today, with a low risk for serious disease for kids, we don't see any clear benefit with vaccinating them," Health Agency official Britta Bjorkholm told a news conference.
She added that the decision could be revisited if the research changed or if a new variant changed the pandemic. Kids in high-risk groups can already get the vaccine.
Sweden registered more than 40,000 new cases on Jan. 26, one of the highest daily numbers during the pandemic, despite limited testing. While the forth wave has seen daily infection records shattered, the healthcare is not under the same strain as during previous waves.
On Thursday 101 patients with COVID required intensive care, well below the more than 400 patients during spring 2021. In total, nearly 16,000 people have died of COVID in Sweden since the pandemic started.
Sweden's government on Wednesday extended restrictions, which included limited opening hours for restaurants and an attendance cap for indoor venues, for two weeks but said it hoped to remove them on Feb. 9."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

It is interesting how different countries that all have access to the same data points have very different stances on this.EDIT - It deleted the part I bolded from the original post for some reason, which was this:Sweden has decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11, the Health Agency said on Thursday, arguing that the benefits did not outweigh the risks.

Palin dines out again in NYC days after positive virus test2 hours ago
NEW YORK (AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was spotted dining out at a New York City restaurant two days after testing positive for the coronavirus.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee’s visit Wednesday to the upscale Manhattan eatery Elio’s drew attention from photo-snapping bystanders. It came shortly after she was in the news over her positive test for COVID-19, which had forced the postponement of a trial in which she is suing The New York Times.
Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines call for people to isolate themselves for at least five days after the onset of symptoms or a positive test.
Palin had also dined at the same restaurant on Saturday, despite a city rule requiring patrons dining indoors at restaurants to be vaccinated.
Palin, 57, has publicly said she won’t get the shot.
Elio’s, which is known for a celebrity clientele, said earlier this week that it had erred in not checking Palin’s vaccination status during her first visit.
The restaurant said in a statement that Palin returned Wednesday evening “to apologize for the fracas around her previous visit.” For her second visit, first reported by the web site Mediaite, Palin dined in a heated outdoor shelter, where vaccination isn’t required.
Messages were sent Thursday via Palin’s website, to her lawyers and to a spokesperson who has worked with her.
Fabien Levy, a spokesperson for Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams, tweeted Thursday that if Palin “actually ‘loved New York City’ as she claims, she would stay home and isolate.”
Palin’s libel suit against The Times, over the wording of an editorial about gun violence, is now set to begin Feb. 3.
