Is media doing it? Are people just nuts? Is the cyberrandsome really to blame?
Who lives down there?
she ordered the shutdown to happen today. There is a court hearing scheduled today. No need to worry at the moment. Enbridge has already stated that the pipeline is not shutting down. There is also a 1977 treaty that supposedly prevents the closure of said pipeline.Post edited by Meltdown99 onGive Peas A Chance…0 -
Meltdown99 said:That pipeline is down and the Michigan governor is trying to shutdown line 5…a pipeline that carries oil and natural gas from western Canada to Ontario refineries…a shutdown of this pipeline would cause havoc to oil gas prices, at least in the short term. A shutdown of the pipeline would effect Ontario, Quebec, Michigan and Ohio and I’m sure others.

If somehow it did get shutdown then oil and gas will come to the region via rail, oil tanker and transport truck…and we all know how safe those methods are…and we are not talking a tiny amount of oil…we are talking a lot of oil, an environmental mess according to our federal government…Lac-Mégantic rail disaster

Rail is such a safe method..

The US federal government has issued a warning about putting gas into plastic bags…
I guess gas stations are running out of gas. Something like a 1000 stations.

Panic buying again exacerbates problem. That's how we do it in the good ol' U S of A.

The shitty part of this "shortage" is panic buyers also make others "panic". I don't wanna wait in a quarter mile line to get gas, but I need to get to work. My truck was at 1/5 tank so I went and got what I think will get me through Friday. Had it been at 1/2, I would still wait til I absolutely need it. But eeeeverybody just gotta fill up now. Just another self-fulfilling prophecy0

To add, @tempo_n_groove yes, it is crazy down here. I went for a run around noon yesterday and passed about four gas stations, everything was normal. Then at around 3pm I went to the post office and every fucking gas station had a line down the road. I didn't even know what's up. Had to look it up. Then by the time I went to work this morning, gas stations were all out. I passed by one out of about 8 that still had regular gas only, and a line about a quarter mile long.Post edited by crookedcross on0

Due to a temporary disruption of gas delivery to the South East United States, drivers in my region of Southern Illinois/Indiana panic bought gas and caused a few of the stations in the area to run out yesterday afternoon. We are nowhere near the pipeline that was affected, but that didn't stop them from chicken little-ing gas the same way they did toilet paper last year.0

Colonial pipeline is back on track @crookedcross Alex. You should be fine now.
Also would like to mention that there are pics of people putting gas in garbage bags and coolers. Not sure if they are from this event or not but you gotta shake your damn head...0 -
