Yikes, this is the dumbest argument ever for sure. 2 mask down picture moments means it's theater. Huh, ok. Theater would be a picture of them masked together and then video of them talking without masks the rest of the time. I don't think you understand what political theater means. It's a hopeless situation...0

I got ya. So you’ll push back when you disagree with criticism of Biden, but won’t comment at all when you agree with the criticism.HughFreakingDillon said:justifying is not the same as adding plausible context, which is what I did.
I wasn't comparing POTUS to my daughter. I was saying PEOPLE get used to mask wearing and sometimes forget. I used her as an example because she was the first one to come to mind. She's 12 and she's brilliant. It's not like I'm talking about a 2 year old here.
again, with this "criticism isn't allowed" BS. of course it is. there's plenty to criticize. I just find some of the topics to be kind of funny. when people criticized Trump for stupid things, people threw out "TDS!" comments all the time.
I didn't comment on the pic with the kids because yes, he should have his mask on and he should be distanced from them.
seriously, is it forum rules to address every single point in a person's post now?
Oh please, dude. What a fucking joke. You addressed every other point in the post, except the one where you agreed. Typical.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

the virus cannot spread in a moment or two. per hospital protocols you have to be within 6 feet of someone who is positive for minimum 10 minutes. that is how they deternine who was exposed during surgery. if you are in the OR and the patient is positive, the only people at risk are those within 6 feet for a duration of 10 minutes are longer. if i were to lean in and get within 6 feet of the patient to fix a piece of equipment for 2 minutes, they are telling me the risk is infinitely small and that is not considered a "known exposure" that would require testing.Ledbetterman10 said:
So the virus can’t spread in a moment or two? So these two guys take precautions all day to avoid the possibility of transmitting the virus, and then say “Eh fuck it, what’s a moment or two?” Same with 9/11. Wears his mask all day, but what’s a moment or two with unvaccinated children going to do?The Juggler said:
So what we have here is nine plus minutes of them wearing masks.Ledbetterman10 said:
Fine, here's the video of him and Johnson sitting and talking with masks on.The Juggler said:
Show me videos, not gotcha pictures. I watched the 9/11 stuff all day. Dude had a mask on all day long. Sorry man.Ledbetterman10 said:He and Boris “probably” wore masks while walking in.“Perhaps” Joe took his mask off for a moment to take a picture with kids. Those “plausible context” statements are just as stupid as so-called out-of-context pictures.Sorry guys, they are.

Obviously I'm not gonna go searching through video Joe's entire 9/11 if that is indeed when the picture with kids was taken. And I'm sure he did have his mask on all day. Well except for the picture with the kids. "Oh the humanity!" you said. Hey I agree with ya that it's not a big deal. But I'm not the one telling people to mask up even if they're vaccinated when around unvaccinated people. Biden is.
Then we have one picture of them posing for a picture without their masks on. Hey here is another off the wall thought---perhaps the White Houses wanted a picture of the two world leaders, for some historical record or something, where we can see their faces? So these two fully vaccinated men took their masks off for a moment or two. OH THE HUMANITY!
What are we doing here, folks? Come on man. This is really so stupid. And talk about stupid: “Perhaps the White House wanted a picture for some historical record or something.” More of that “plausible context” that Hugh was talking about I guess."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."0 -

I’m not saying it isn’t at least part for show or politics, but there might be other considerations too. Like how long they are exposed.Ledbetterman10 said:

And why is his mask down?Ledbetterman10 said:Well to Biden's credit, he doesn't seem too worried about the hat a young girl is wearing, even if it says Trump on it. Now I'm not usually one to do the "buh buh buh Trump" comparison to everything Biden does. But if the roles were reversed, and it was a girl with a Biden hat on trying to pose next to Trump, Trump would probably call her a loser and have her removed from the photo-op
But to be serious, the theatrics of mask-wearing (or lack thereof) by political leaders is getting beyond silly. Joe himself warns of variants and keeping others safe, but here he is maskless, not socially-distanced, around kids that appear too young to be vaccinated. So he doesn't wear his mask when surrounded by children, but he wore a mask while on a Zoom call a few months ago.
When I made fun of him for wearing a mask on a zoom, his devotees here pushed back by saying that there were probably other people in the room with him. Fine, but they were probably vaccinated, adults, and not as in close contact with him as the kids in the picture below.
Really, someone compare these two pictures and tell me how this isn't insane. And peaking of insane Biden mask behavior, check out these two pictures of him with Boris Johnson from a few days ago.

So they wear masks while talking a few feet from each other, and then don't wear masks when they're making physical contact? What the fuck? The CDC defines close contact as being within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more. So by that standard you would need a mask while seated 6 feet apart if you’re in a meeting, but would not be considered close contact if you took a brief picture hugging.
I think it’s dumb, I think you either wear a mask or you don’t. But they’ve been playing that game for a year and half. It’s how we opened schools last year. Crowded hallways didn’t count as close contact because it’s only 5 minutes. If someone tested positive you only quarantine those students who sat directly next to them in a class. Limit cafeteria and other settings to 15 minutes or less, no need to contact trace because it wasn’t considered close contact. Even classroom activities, kids can work in groups for 14 minutes and it’s fine, don’t have to document or monitor who worked with who. 16 minutes though, I better be prepared to show who they sat next to and worked with.
Probably some of that same logic here.0 -
Except they changed it to 15 min total in a 24 hour time frame.mace1229 said:
