Unfortunately I don’t see 2/3 of Congress agreeing on this.OnWis97 said:mcgruff10 said:
There is no way that is possible. 13 days left? it's gonna take another three of four just to validate the electoral votes. The Juggler said:mcgruff10 said:
Can you "impeach" after Jan. 20th? Or would it just go to a federal court of law?The Juggler said:If they did impeach, would it be the new congress or the old one? Like would Ossoff and Warnock be able to vote? Wonder how soon they get sworn in...
Well he wouldn't be president then so they'd need to impeach before then.
Yeah. It's 25th or ride it out. Probably the latter.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -

not running again is a seperate charge to be voted on. its not automatic.

Of course. That's a key to sportsbooks: try to take bets on something a moron would vote on. Anyone that thought he'd actually flip the election result weeks after losing was a moron, and a perfect target for this sportsbook to prey upon. Same goes for anyone that thinks, with two weeks left in his presidency, he'll be impeached again. The Juggler said:Oh boy. Right. I don't think it is out of the question that they impeach him again though. If the 25th is not happening and it doesn't look like he will be removed any other way, I would absolutely think it would be a good idea to impeach for a second time even though he likely won't be convicted again. Give him the even uglier stench of 2 impeachments on his resume and then kick him the fuck out in a couple of weeks.....it would have the added benefit of forcing more republicans to attach themselves to this piece of shit one last time too....Ledbetterman10 said:

Could be the beginning of Tricky Team Trump TREASON Tax Cheat’s resignation and pardons. Night time flight to Andrews tomorrow followed by a last flight to Mar-I-Lieo with a presser held Friday evening announcing Pence has taken the reigns. No White House double V a la Nixon boarding the helicopter and flying off into the sunset. Too weak to walk out one last time and snap his jacket with jutted jaw.gimmesometruth27 said:trump is fleeing to camp david.

there isn't enough time to remove him. can the trial go on after he's left office?Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0
-
there's barely even enough time for the 25th. apparently there is an 8 day period where trump can appeal.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I think a lot of this is putting a name on a side one last time. Either you are going down in flames with him or finally chose the right side and saw the light. At least that is what I am guessing the Dems are trying to do.HughFreakingDillon said:there's barely even enough time for the 25th. apparently there is an 8 day period where trump can appeal.
Removing him for the safety of the country is the right move but this is not an episode of 24 where it happens in minutes as you mentioned.0 -
I totally understand the sentiment of impeaching him again; he's insane and shouldn't be president, and now his rhetoric has caused pretty much a coup attempt on the capitol building. I get it. But getting an impeachment done in less than two weeks just seems unlikely to me. Not out of the realm of possibility (anything is possible during the Trump presidency) but unlikely. And while it would be funny to see him impeached twice in just over a year, in might also cheapen the concept of impeachment historically. That'd be four impeachments, without anyone being removed from office. The Juggler said:

A successful impeachment would mean he can not run in 2024 as well. Would need the senate to be on board too for that to happen but it is something that could happen likely or not.Ledbetterman10 said:

I'd like to see the 25th happen but there are too many spineless members of Congress to get 2/3. Twelve more days folks, we can do this.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

Not to mention cabinet members are jumping ship to avoid having to invoke the 25th.mcgruff10 said:I'd like to see the 25th happen but there are too many spineless members of Congress to get 2/3. Twelve more days folks, we can do this.

I am sure there is a way to do it. There is no lengthy investigation that needs to take place prior to holding a few hearings. They all witnessed, first hand, what happened. We all read his tweets and watched what he said on tv. Getting it through a trial in the senate and getting him convicted is unlikely but there is a new congress and Schumer is leader now. So I think they have a shot.Ledbetterman10 said:
