Correct. Yesterday a friend shared Pence's announcement about it while praising the work done by Trump to provide a vaccine. I wanted to call them on it, with Pfizer's response, but honestly it would have made zero difference. Some people are too far down the rabbit hole to turn back now.HughFreakingDillon said:
yes they did, but it won't matter. millions will still believe that:rgambs said:Pfizer directly contradicted him with a statement immediately.
 a) this is trump's win
 b) pfizer delayed the announcement until after the election on purpose to let biden win
in today's day, a response is nothing but pissing in the wind. once the first incendiary claim is out there, that monster is invincible.0

I don't have time to pull up the exact data, but the heavy majority of the state's population is concentrated in the blue section surrounding Chicago. Cook County (Chicago) and the surrounding counties are seeing the worst levels of Covid since the pandemic began. I can assure you, those counties are not Team Trump. So there are flaws in this correlation. In any case, making this about red state/ blue state is not something I'm interested in. Honest question—
Should we attempt another lockdown to decrease the case load? Virus is on the horizon, which is great, but it’ll still be months until everyone has access.
The numbers are skyrocketing and the hospitals are beyond stressed. Thoughts?I LOVE MUSIC.

Right, half-measure lockdowns just slow it down until the next wave. The answer is so simple, but yet so hard to get people to commit to. If this country was serious, we'd lock down travel out of state/country for 21 days and let the current cases run their course. This would also require people to stay the fuck home except for food and medical care. After that; there would need to be required quarantine periods for those wanting entry/returning to the US.static111 said:

Day 9 or the Rona. Seem fine for the most part. Never lost taste/smell, had issues breathing, or bad cough or fever. The biggest things I’ve noticed is that from mid-day on, I’m tired. Not exhausted, just tired, like I need a nap. The other is the headaches and “fuzzy brain.” Best I can describe it is it’s like the feeling one gets after getting a concussion. Stuff is slow and it’s hard to really focus on stuff. All in all, thankful that it hasn’t been too bad. I’ve had worse head/chest colds.
Waiting on test results for the wife (she’s had symptoms since Sunday night) and the toddler. He’s fine, and driving us nuts. I’m positive he brought it home from his daycare.
Learned a friend from my home town came down with pneumonia from COVID and ended up in the hospital for a couple of days. She’s in her late 30s. No good.
Take care and stay safe and healthy everyone.

We have many drive through testing sites in Colorado. The wait time went from about 2 minutes to 15 minutes. I'm guessing this isn't normal. The tweet says many other locations are available in the area with much smaller lines. So I'm wondering if people just don't know about the others, are excite to go to Dodger stadium, or what the deal is. Because I have no doubt that its true many other facilities have a much smaller wait time.RunIntoTheRain said:Holy cow look at all those people in line to get tested at Dodger Stadium yesterday

Glad your symptoms are mild. When I had it, I had similar symptoms. The fuzzy head felt like the morning after taking Nyquil. Also, felt the fatigue. But, I lost my sense of taste and smell a few days in. It didn't last too long. Hopefully, you won't get that. It is a weird sensation. I first noticed the loss of taste. I remember telling my sister that the food at the Thai place I ordered from that night went really downhill. I think I even used the term tasteless. Later that night I noticed the loss of smell.jerparker20 said:Day 9 or the Rona. Seem fine for the most part. Never lost taste/smell, had issues breathing, or bad cough or fever. we have to have a national lockdown. no excuses this time. close the gyms. close bars. close stores. hospitals are overstrained and medical staff is really fatigued after 8 months of dealing with this. this thing is beating americans.
we should have done this 6 months ago. every day we delay is more more well people getting sick and more lives lost.
it is clear that we will not beat this thing with the lazyass approach we have been taking the last 8 months."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

My mom told me she had a box of facemasks. In her bag. Unopened. But she promised me now to use them when going by bus to her job.
This winter is gonna be crazy in Europe. The number of admitted corona patients is increasing faster in Sweden than in any other European country. It reports the newspaper Financial Times. The newspaper writes that the number of cases, hospitalized and dead is significantly higher than in Denmark, Norway and Finland, even if the population is taken into account. They also write that the spread of infection in Sweden is now starting to catch up with what was seen in the UK during the autumn.

we have been harping on these 4 simple steps for 8 months. it has not worked because people are not doing it. to me it is that easy."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

just had a mandatory team video call. parts of iowa and chicago are eliminating elective surgeries starting monday due to covid. no timeline on when this will be lifted.
central missouri may be doing the same. this will not hurt me as i do not cover central of western mo anymore, but if western and southern il shuts down electives i could be screwed.
shit is bleak right now."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

KU Med is cutting back on surgeries immediately to free up beds. My boss won’t let us work from home until the county makes it official — even though a lot of us are far more efficient at home.gimmesometruth27 said:just had a mandatory team video call. parts of iowa and chicago are eliminating elective surgeries starting monday due to covid. no timeline on when this will be lifted.

I agree. Even on full lockdown there’s too many exceptions and too many essential stores still opened. Stay open, be strict about your business. Maybe even invest in those forehead thermometers or something if you’re a business owner. On full lockdown you can still go to Home Depot every day, get your car worked on, grocery shop, stop at the liquor store, stop at the bank. And do it all again tomorrow. Just be smarter with the restrictions.mcgruff10 said:I am not for another lockdown. Be responsible, wear a mask, socially distance and wash your hands.0
