I had the great displeasure of watching The Firm for the first time since the early 90's. I don't know why I remembered this as being some great movie or something. It's fucking trash. Stupid music playing throughout. Has a movie of the week feel to it.

There is one scene where Tom Cruise and his girlfriend are walking down the street and some random African American kid is coming towards them. Out of nowhere this kid starts up some weird gymnastic routine with cart wheels, backflips, and other bullshit. Cruise, wanting to seem relatable, immediately gives a knowing glance to the kid and then replicates the move in the other direction. His girlfriend is heard saying in the background "Oh there he goes again,'  as if pulling some weird gymnastic routine to ingratiate himself among the cool youts is something Cruise's character is accustomed to doing? Then they all had a laugh and went on about their business and the movie jumps to the next scene. What the fuck was that?!

I was a little inebriated at the time so I had to rewind to see if I saw it correctly. Sure enough I did.

The Firm is a steaming pile of turds stacked up on a pile of dead salamanders. Don't recommend.

It's quite possibly the most random scene of any movie I have ever watched. I don't believe they ever referenced his knowledge of gymnastics. The kid was forgotten as quickly as he entered. It doesn't fit into the movie at all. I am genuinely curious about how this scene made the movie

I love horribly-wrong scenes in films.

We watched John Wick last night (first time). Pretty good movie, excellent fight scenes. I like older Keanu.

The Predator. god awful. why can't I find a decent movie during the week that isn't 180 minutes long? I don't wish to stay up that late on a week night. and i don't generally start movies until my youngest is in bed (9 ish).
