Well, I cannot change my answer to the poll officially, but I am no longer sitting this one out.

    Voting for Kamala!
    I’ll trade ya poll selections.
    Aren't you PA?
Yeah, Joe lost a swing-vote. I'll be voting third party. Kamala was the deal-breaker for me. Rice, Warren, or whoever would've been fine, I guess.

Might as well just get this out of the way in one post, rather than hanging around here putting on a façade that I'll voting for Biden. I don't feel a voter is obligated to vote for anyone. Rather, I feel it's the obligation of the candidate to earn the voter's vote. And the Democrats in general, and Biden in particular, have done nothing to earn my vote (neither have Trump and the GOP for that matter). I know, to vote third-party in Pennsylvania is to the benefit of Trump. Well it's too bad that the system sucks and you can not vote for someone (I won't be voting for Trump) and it can still benefit that person. And really, despite the fact that I don't like the Democratic Party (or liberalism in general), and I think Biden is a walking corpse and puppet, I was still willing to vote for him, unless he picked Harris.

So what's my beef with Harris you may ask. Well I don't like her grandstanding, her race-baiting, or the fact that she locked up so many people for marijuana offenses. I just in general don't like her. Now you might also ask, what about Trump? A simple search through my posts over the past two or so weeks will show that I've said on a few occasions that Trump is the worst president ever, which he is. I don't like him either. So I'm not going to vote for either. I didn't like John Kerry, but I voted for him because Bush was the worst president ever (or so I was told at the time). I didn't like Hillary, but I voted for her because Trump is Trump. I done with that stuff. I'm voting for candidates I like. I don't like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, or Mike Pence. And I'm not going to be guilt-tripped into voting for Biden based on Trump's historic awfulness. Though, I will feel a bit a guilt as I waste my vote on some third-party candidate or goofy write-in vote. But I'd rather feel guilty for wasting a vote than feel like a whore for voting for someone I dislike...again.

Also, I don't think my Biden winning Texas prediction is going to pan-out now.
If you feel a third-party candidate is a wasted vote - then you understand that there are only two candidates who have a chance at victory. Based on that, whether you like it or not, to spoil your ballot or to vote third party, would mean to exert 50% of what you could have to eliminate a Trump presidency. Again, whether you like it or not, Biden and Trump are now inextricably linked, in that the loss of one indicates the victory of the other. That means choosing not to vote Trump, is already a help to Biden - but because of some internal pride, you can't find it in you to double your efforts.
It’s actually sorta double-edged In my case. I’m a conservative, so someone like me would typically vote for the Republican candidate. So under that premise, my third-party or write-in vote hurts Trump and benefits Biden. But Trump’s the worst and I would never vote for him...hence “Biden” as my poll selection in this thread. So under the premise that I’m someone that would never check the box next to Trump, my third-party or write-in vote hurts Biden and benefits Trump. Hence why I’ve (understandably and predictably) have been getting so much shit here today. If I was a conservative that’s loves the GOP and Trump, I might be getting praised for voting third-party. But as a conservative that that doesn’t like the GOP and Trump, everyone seems pissed that I’m not voting Biden. In large part because they disagree with the reason I’m changing my mind being based mainly on the running-mate pick.

You’re quoting the wrong post, but no, it’s Biden who wants to end cash bail. I was listing Biden stances I disagree with in response to Lerxst1992. I was trying to say that for violent offenses, absolutely not, and gave the example of the guy in NYC that was released and shot two people. But I didn’t type it out too clearly as I look back at it and it did read like I was saying I was for it. Biden, according to the link Lerxst1992 posted, wants to end cash bail in general. I’d be for it in certain cases (drug offenses for example), but not overall like this suggests Biden is....

If you're referring to a story posted on here a few days back re: the guy released who then shot two people, that's not an example of a bail problem. The police released him because they no longer had evidence to charge or hold him, as their witness recanted.

Why do you support a cash bail policy? It does nothing more than reinforce economic inequities already inherent in the criminal justice system, and contribute to the horrific rate of incarceration in the US, since many low risk people don't have the money for bail and may wait weeks or months (or years) in pretrial custody.

If you're really concerned about releasing potentially violent criminals, then you should be in favour of bail reform from a money-based to a risk-based system.

Thank you. I’m excited. Its really the least I can do in the most important election of my lifetime, but it’s something. I wouldn’t be able to live with the guilt of not doing a little something to help out. 🤙🏻✌🏻

But yeah, in the case used as an example in that article, I don’t think bail should be set for someone that steals a backpack.

The best fix would simply be a legal system that doesn’t move so slowly. Where the accused aren’t waiting around so long for their day in court.

Also, completely agree that a speedier legal system would be preferable but realistically there are a number of factors that show it down. Complex investigations take time but unfortunately the defence counsel often tries to drag it out as long as possible in the hope that delay can lead to witnesses recanting or dropping out of sight, charges being dropped, or that they can show that the individual has not been criminally involved since the offence so should get a light sentence.

someone mentioned yard signs earlier and since this was not directly related to the post i did not quote it.

interesting story. i live in a pretty nice suburban neighborhood. it is quiet and all of the neighbors are friendly and helpful. there is an elderly couple caddy corner to me that always talks to me when i go get my mail or bring in my trash cans or whatever. they have been critical of trump's corona response. about a week ago i got home from work and they had a brand new trump pence 2020 sign in their yard. i was a little puzzled by this. the next day when i was leaving for work i noticed that the sign had been taken down.

i am not sure if they took it down themselves, or if someone in the neighborhood did it. i have not seen them outside to be able to ask them.

i am wondering if the trump campaign is just putting up signs in the yards of their 2016 voters or if supporters have to request them and put them up themselves.

at any rate, i am seeing more trump signs around here than i did in 2016. i am not sure if that is indicative of anything, but i am definitely scratching my head as to what these people have seen the last 4 years to make them want to support trump in 2020.

    I'm with you....it's insane.

It seems like a lot of the anti-democrat chatter I see on FB or tiktok refers to democrats and non-working, poor, lazy, etc.  Yet most of the tRump signs I see are in front of very lower class houses, trailers, etc.

I can't believe those people give up their money like that.  But their fundraising arm knows how to get $5-$10 from them every week rather than the $100 at one time.
