    I was too young to appreciate the Bulls vs. Pistons era, but grew up in the middle of the Bulls vs. Knicks.  I absolutely hated the Knicks.
    I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

    That part where it cuts from Gary Payton to MJ watching him talk was awesome. And he kinda/sorta implied he wanted to win on Father’s Day, something I suggested at the time....that he wanted to win in Chicago On Father’s Day. At the time, I said they lost on purpose. But now that I’m older, I think he just wasn’t manically competitive for games 4 and 5. “If we lose, we lose” almost for those games.

    Watching SVP afterwards, does anyone see Pippen in a different light?  I remember the low points but dude was such an on point player it out wayed anything bad he ever did.

    I remember when Pip didn’t come out for the last play against the Knicks.  It made me feel like he wasn’t willing to take the role of the team leader because of that.  The Knicks also had a really good team that year so it may not have mattered, but he definitely made a big mistake.

    Well first off, no. To bat .202 with 50 RBIs, 30 stolen bases, and 3 homeruns in double-A pro baseball after not playing in 13 years is pretty damn good. Then he batted over .250 then in a fall league in i think Arizona. But more than that, that was cool as hell to take on the challenge. To willfully go from being the best in the world at something to start at the bottom of something else just for love of the game was incredible.

    -i remember how crazy the Pip/Kukoc thing was.  Weird feeling because that buzzer beater was so great. Doesnt tarnish his rep to me. He was a moody player to begin with.  

    -Payton DID do a great job on Jordan.  Held him to like 21ppg and poor shooting in the three games he guarded him. Everyone forget that

    Somethings are just about being in the right place at the right time.  

    In 1984, George Koehler was a struggling limo driver.  He goes to the airport to pick someone up and the person never shows. Instead he runs into rookie MJ who needs a ride to training camp. George gives him his business card during the ride.  He becomes his personal assistant and best friend.

    I was disappointed that Pip didn’t show regret last night for the 1.8 thing. He said he wished it never happened (rather than saying “I wish I didn’t do that”) and said he’d do it again. 

    I’m a huge Pip fan and I took so much ridicule from my friends when he did that. I was embarrassed for him. No doubt. But like you said....moody player. And you can’t focus on a mere 1.8 seconds of selfishness when every other moment of his 17-year career was totally team-first. He fucked up at the time, I wish he showed regret last night, but whatever. It’s 1.8 seconds of a game they won anyway. 

    And yeah, Payton did do good on MJ. But if ya look back, by his MJ standards, the 1996 playoffs were his worst of all his six title years playoffs. He didn’t shoot well that whole postseason, and especially then with Payton on him.

    I'm glad to see that batting 202 is respectable to you...

    I remember a bunch of people saying that he was going to be a great ball player, no he wasn't.

    Biggest take from last night was the pickup games during Space Jam filming.  How friggin crazy were those teams!?!  EVERYONE was coming to them.

    I'd love to see more footage of that.
