Pearl Jam 2020 European Tour Postponed
News April 9 2020

In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Pearl Jam's 2020 European tour dates have been postponed until June/July 2021.

We are working with all of our partners to reschedule these dates and will release the new tour routing as soon as we are able.

All tickets will be honored for the rescheduled concert dates.

Refunds are not being offered at this time. However, we are still reviewing specific ticketing policies with our partners in each country. Ticket holders will be notified of any changes.

As previously announced, London's BST festival was cancelled on April 8th. For more information and the event statement, please go here.

We look forward to returning to Europe in 2021!

Completly understandable. Any hope for more cities to be added to the 2021 european tour?

Thanks for the update. Going to be a hell of a time getting money back from this trip. Hopefully we can get some dates soon so we can try and talk the airlines and hotels into allowing us to just change the dates a year ahead.

Inevitable 🙁. But thanks for the update and postponing, not canceling!

LOL, no refunds and no new dates?

How are we supposed to navigate cancelling our current reservations without being able to tell the airlines when we wanna reschedule?

Am I really supposed to sit here all day on hold to beg for a refund now or keep the flights until they reschedule?

    This is a fucking nightmare.

I'm surprised at the no refunds people might not be able to make the new dates and 10C tickets cant be transferred so people may lose out altogether

I am hoping we get new dates fairly soon. I already called my airline/hotels and they said there is nothing they can do for me since the summer is still open for travel as of right now.

So we either hope that the earth is still on fire in the summer and we can get a refund or we hope that the virus has gone away and the world can travel again but we are fucked on a refund.

I've lost a ton on this trip being cancelled and assumed I would at least get my ticket money back. This makes 0 sense. The shows aren't happening and no makeup date announced. Please refund!

Refunds are not being offered at this time.

When they know the new dates and other details, I am sure you will get refund if you can't make the new date.

Gutted but understand the reasons, happy they’re postponed and not cancelled as we had 6 shows booked this tour so we’ll hold on to the tickets until next year, not sure about BST next year but I’d prefer a couple of o2 arena shows instead anyway, one things for sure though, the rearranged shows are going to be fucking EPIC!!

Many airlines and hotels only book 12 months into the future.  If anyone know of any exceptions please share.

I assume “refunds are not being offered at this time” would be better phrased as “refund details are not available at this time but will be provided shortly”.  If they are actually not offering refunds that would be shocking.  Many people will be happy to use the tickets in the future, but not everyone.

smart to reschedule but people should have the option of getting refunded now. a lot of folks aren't working and need every penny to be liquid to them

I feel like they are giving us news as they get it. Either we get one update now then one later about new dates/refunds or we get one update later and people still complain about them waiting.

I hope to make the new dates but as you say probably good idea of them to hold off on refunds till new dates are confirmed and people know if they can make them or not

I will lose my mind if we aren't offered refunds on the tickets.

If I can't get any refunds on the airfare that basically means i need to eat all the ticket costs, plus all the airfare OR re-book this entire thing all over again which will result in this trip costing me something like $5k-$6k.

A couple thoughts on airfare cancellations and refunds based on my recent experience.  Most airlines, at least the three we have been dealing with, American, Southwest and Hawaiian were only giving full refunds if the flight was actually cancelled. Right now, of course many flights are being cancelled as airlines are scaling way down.  If the flight wasn’t cancelled, they were only offering credits.  The big caveat with the credit is that it is only good for 12 months from PURCHASE date, not date of departure.  So in reality, you probably only have about 6 months to use, depending of course when you purchased.

We were able to eventually get a full refund from a flight that wasn’t cancelled with southwest after extended begging and pleading with very understanding operator. They are obviously overwhelmed with calls and are only trying to follow their policies. Hope that small bit of intel helps a few of you. Cheers and see u on the next tour!

Sensible decision and really the only decision possible. Please please could you add a few different shows in the UK if Hyde Park has already booked their headliners and not leave us concert-less

Flight refunds could be tricky unless refundable fares were purchased.  Airlines may still operate the flights in the summer.  If so they’re not going to care that concerts were postponed.  And if they ultimately don’t operate the flights, they will probably wait until closer to the time to cancel them.  They won’t offer $ now.  Some airlines may not even exist by July.  And others will offer credits and make you fight them for refunds.  Every airline in the world probably needs some type of government bailout to stay in business and they will hold
onto money as tightly and as long as they can. They have no revenue and still have costs.

I will still make the trip for Europe travel if you can go between EU countries but Pearl Jam dropped the ball here.  This is a cancellation not a postponement.  Postponements are usually made up relatively quickly.  In sports (the same season).  This is fucking 14 to 15 months out and they want to hold our money through a technicality on a fucking postponement?

My first thought was there should be refunds but as someone said set the new dates first then individuals can better decide if they want a refund or keep the tickets

Nah, not 15 months out.  Wipe it clean.  Full reset.  Waiting until December for new dates is a joke.

December would be but what if its next month or at least before the original dates?
