Not panicked. Concerned about how my family might be impacted. Don't want to get it but can't live in a cocoon. Am mostly worried about my mom who is at risk and what I would do about walking my dog if I needed to quarantine.tempo_n_groove said:Question for you out there.
Are you panicking?
Are any of you worried about getting it even though you don't fall under the criteria of those that need to be worried?
Serious questions.
I'll ask again in a week too.___________________________________________

Exactly.. Welcome to the USA! Where healthcare is profit driven by many many corporations. Coordinating and trying to make nation-wide guidelines that are immediately observed by all providers is going to be extremely difficult. In countries where they have universal healthcare you can at least have a Central Command that covers everyone and every care provider etc..cincybearcat said:
Really? so tell me why everywhere in the US is doing it differently then?myoung321 said:
When the World Heath Org and CDC say this is now categorized as a "Pandemic" leaders need to follow well established guidelines to protect the public. There is no guessing ... no maybe ... no what ifs.. The WHO and CDC made that pretty clear with the designation change.cincybearcat said:
Hahaha, mostly kidding. But the reality is there is a fine balance here because destroying the economy will have negative effects on a lot of people as well. So I do not envy the leaders making these decisions. It's not a simple as some want people to believe, and they do not have enough info really, so it's their best guess. I hope the guesses are more right then wrong.Spiritual_Chaos said:

Not panicking. I kinda hope I get it and get over it sooner than later. I do worry about some family and friends with health issues...Maybe we youngsters should all go on a two week “infectious cruise”, and purposely catch it and get through it so that we can come back and help those more at risk of serious complications? There’s a good chance we’re all going to get it at some point anyways...tempo_n_groove said:Question for you out there.

1) Not at all, taking responsible precautions - but try to do that always. see #2tempo_n_groove said:Question for you out there.

Lol, true, but it makes more sense than buying bulk toilet paper or trying to avoid the public for the next few months. I would rather get it now than when 90% of the population has it.mrussel1 said:

Not panicking but definitely taking it seriously. Just following all the precautions the WHO say to. I’m low on hand sanitizer though and can’t find any anywhere. The girl at Rite Aid told me even their warehouse is just about out of it.tempo_n_groove said:Question for you out there.

Not panicking. I and several people in my family have a chronic respiratory condition, which makes it a bit more uncertain, but I’m otherwise really healthy. I assume I’ll get the virus at some point as I work in health care so we’ll see how I do. From a purely scientific point of view I’m morbidly curious, watching this all unfold. I’m concerned about my mother, though, as she’s getting more frail.tempo_n_groove said:Question for you out there.

And although I’d love to retire soon, realistically it’s another 10 years plus before I do, so I’m assuming the market will recover by then.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -
Hand sanitizer is not going to do a ton of good against an airborne virus...but is good for the skin I guess...Ledbetterman10 said:

Thanks all for answering.
Kind of hard to believe we don't have anyone freaking out and that is good.
I have a very sick Aunt in the hospital whom I go see but am afraid to get close because I travel frequently into the city. I've been using the purell stations and using the 6' rule.0 -

Death panels starting in Italy. They don't have the resources to treat everybody. They are prioritizing those with the best chance of survival. In other words, the elderly, and people with comorbidities, will not receive the treatment they need.0

Is that what a death panel is though?CM189191 said:Death panels starting in Italy. They don't have the resources to treat everybody. They are prioritizing those with the best chance of survival. In other words, the elderly, and people with comorbidities, will not receive the treatment they need.0 -
No. But I'm sure that's what the GOP will call it. Right before they try to blame the libs.tempo_n_groove said:

So far the coronavirus has cost me 3 Pearl Jam concerts With friends and family and a ncaa tournament trip with my dad. Not to mention a spring break girls trip for my wife and daughter. And a few other big deals for my family I don’t care to mention specifically.
im concerned about the health of a few specific people close to me. And sad for those who have been effected in the most awful way. This is just all bad. And no joke, the world needs to figure out how to hold China accountable for their continued nonsense

I have owned a tiny "underground" Alt rock/punk bar on 3rd street in La Crosse wisconsin since 1990 and cant remember a public health crisis like this that has made me think i may be forced to close up shop in order to protect the health of patrons & my staff (mostly Me,wife & our eldest college student child). It really sucks to live in an era that we cant trust the word of our elected officials as they are ALL using this situation as a political football. When i started my bar at 25 we hadnt even heard of PJ yet & our iconic cd jukebox played the beloved regional stuff that we bought at the independent record Shop (Deaf Ear record exchange)across the street like Husker Du,The replacements,Soul Asylum, the Bo Deans,v femmes & older stuff like N.Young,Petty,Hendrix,Sabbath.I only found out about the Seattle bands that would change american music culture forever when D.Ear owner Alex was putting up new posters in his shop. After putting up a Sound Garden poster he gave me the Soul Asylum poster he had just taken down that i still have on display.D Pirner & co.later signed when they stopped by on their way through town in their beat up old van on the way to a 1991 gig in Illinois. Soul Asylum was ready to hang it up and get real jobs at that time as they had been dropped by their label but then shortly after Nirvana, Pearl Jam & sound garden broke national the whole rock n roll industry changed, they were resigned and hit the bigtime..Back then G.H bush was potus and while i wasnt a big fan as a typical wisconsin moderate dem i thought he was at least "somewhat of a man of integrity". It saddens me to think How far our portion of the north american village has fallen to not be able to believe anything at all coming from our elected officials in DC regarding this serious situation that may force me to close up the tavern that supports my family of 5.
