WA State's governor has said declared no gatherings of 250 or more people. That includes sporting, religious and cultural events. So no concerts, Mariners, Sounders, college basketball games, XFL games, etc... won't happen, or at least won't happen in front of a crowd. I've heard it could be lowered as things get worse. We are up to 190 cases and 22 deaths in my county, so they're putting the hammer down on events that bring people together.
22 dead from Corona in Seattle?
Just next to Seattle in the same county. Most were associated with that long term care facility in Kirkland, WA (about 15 minutes from my house). One of the dead was a mid-50's diabetic, who had visited his mom at the nursing home the day before they closed it to visitors.

So anyhow, most of you seem to think a re-book fall is best. I will prolly take your advice... but I may see how the next week plays out.
Sweden just forbid any gatherings bigger than 500 people for the next 2 months

The US is not fairing better than Sweden.

    Postpone.

Have a Max Von Sydow marathon with your daughter instead.
So, just no getting the entire country together at the same time?
Why do you consider this is an appropriate time for a joke, when my Nick Cave concert will be cancelled?

Nick Cave just called and told me that KISS sucks.

It's context that got lost in Ed's postponement note. The experience in Seattle has been different than other places in the US, so far.

Good advise from my sister:  Don't forget to step away from the news now and then.  Stay calm, be as positive as possible, take good care of your daily health.

    What more can one do?

We''re getting out for the day- get some fresh air, go walking, try to focus on something good for a while.

Have as good a day as possible, all.

Yeah, I think that's why I'm on all of these coronavirus threads here and the Porch lately. It is basically my life. That's almost all that is talked about on the local news, conversations with others at work, conversations with friends and family. It is a strange feeling. Unfortunately, now it is starting to take off and everyone around the country is being impacted in one way or another. I spent last week planning a remote work scenario for our data center which is typically staffed 7x24x365.

The new rule of no public gatherings bigger than 500 people has never been used in Sweden before. If not obeyed, one can be fined or get prison up to 6 months.

    QUOTE:

    - We have to repeal this regulation on the day it is no longer needed, but when it can happen we do not know today and therefore it applies until further notice. This is not a general recommendation, but a strict ban. Those who still arrange such a meeting run the risk of fines or imprisonment for up to six months, Morgan Johansson continues about the ban on public gatherings.

    - This is a unique decision. No Swedish government has used this opportunity before. We understand that this will have major consequences, but we are also convinced that the Swedish people have a great understanding

Will all of those repubs screaming "let them fail" when Obama bailed out the auto and banking industries be screaming the same thing regarding the shale oil industry? And does anyone here have any faith that Team Trump Treason can negotiate a bailout that earns the government money and saves the companies. Anyone?

Does Team Trump Treason even know how much suspending the payroll tax until the end of the year would cost?

Weird that all parties in parliament agreed on removing the "qualifying day of sickness". I would have thought the right-winged parties would have not wanted to do that. The big right-winged party even wants to have two days, and not just the normal one.
