I think at this point Tommy needs to challenge Paul Rudd to a street fight if they green screened this in without his knowledge.  Meet at 3:15 behind the Taco Bell parking lot and sort this shit out.  Can you imagine someone pulling this on you with your boss's recent ohh la and laaaa?

I promise after this I’ll get off of my soapbox here, this topic just strikes a nerve with me.  I don’t believe Andy Reid is at fault for any of his players getting hurt.  Injuries happen in the NFL, at any position, at any given time.  The strength of a good HC is overcoming injuries and maximizing the strengths of his team.  They have the best passing offense in the NFL.  Mahomes could have had as bad, if not a worse, knee injury if he trips over his offensive line’s feet while taking a snap under center while trying to hand it off to Shady McCoy.  It was a freak injury and I’m convinced of that.  I guess Sean Payton is an idiot for getting Drew Brees hurt too.
The guy you’re arguing with doesn’t even know the name of his team’s backup quarterback.

I’m not the biggest Reid fan but to blame him for his qb getting hurt on a sneak is ridiculous. Nobody ever gets hurt on qb sneaks.

    #4. And apparently Mahomes does.

TB12’s backup is #4. His name is irrelevant. But if you don’t know it, you’re a fraud fan. Because of the sizzling hot QB controversy that started the season up there in New England.

It’ll depend on the situation. 2 minutes before the half against a shit team in a game of little import up 4 with a chance to go up 7 rather than risk your injured QB for a TD? Yea, I’ll blame Bill. In a game down six with less than two to play to clinch home field throughout, Bill gets credit for the right call. #4 steps in and pats roll to the SB.

Qb’s rarely get hurt on sneaks.

They also convert on 80% of them.

The Mahomes injury was a fluke.

You know not what you’re talking about.

Taking a team that had no business in the playoffs to a division title and NLCS doesn’t seem like such a sad saga. That’s a pep talk every coach makes when they overcome a bunch of doubters.
  • PoncierPoncier Posts: 16,170
The sad saga is letting something like that get out in public so your opponent has bulletin board material.
Smart coaches (players too) keep anything like that strictly in house and only show respect for an upcoming opponent to the public.

Yes. McFarland was the best part last year but having him out of the booth was dumb. Witten and that squirrel on his head are better off back on the playing field.
I couldn't stand him last year but I think it was because of that stupid gimmick. He's a quality analyst though.

Were the rules broken? Do they need to be changed? Too bad other coaches aren’t as smart as Bill? It’s going to be fun reading the excuses as the season progresses.

    Skirt the rules?
Man you're still so bitter about Chunky Soup puking in Superb Owl 39.
Knowing the rules and using them to your advantage is not skirting them (and frankly it was to everyone's advantage to end that game quicker, only thing the Jets might have accomplished with 50 more seconds was getting somebody hurt).

If they play him and he further injures the knee, they'll be an angry mob parked outside all the KC BBQ joints waiting for Andy Reid to exit.

I'll drive down to Arrowhead from Wisconsin with my pitch fork.  Project the franchise!
P.S. If I'm joining an angry mob at the BBQ joint, it's Jack Stack BBQ for me.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.
