Warren or Buttigieg will be a losing battle so don't be so quick to ask for anyone.
Why would you lump Pete in with Warren?
    Easy targets to exploit.
But why? He's a moderate war veteran.

I think he'd be a great candidate to go against a draft dodging corrupt as fuck monster. Warren would, even if she calls herself a capitalist (which i liked), easily be labeled as a socialist who is going to raise everyone's taxes. Not going to play well in the swing states.

Buttigieg was in the military and he's from the midwest.
Warren is infinitely smarter than Trump. I think she would make him look foolish in a debate.
Even in his own state, or especially in his own state, I don't know that Buttigieg would win. Indiana is as red as trump is orange. It's getting better, but very slowly.

Looking foolish has proven to be ineffective at stopping the angry orange monster. But we can sure hope!
“Looking foolish” in a debate or “losing” the debate means nothing. Did George W. Bush “win” any of his debates against Gore or Kerry? I dunno. I wasn’t scoring them. But probably not. He won both elections though. Or at least the one against Kerry lol.

Bush did win some of the debates because  Gore made mistakes. He was ridiculed for his lockbox comment and also for standing over bush trying to  intimidate him.

That look bush shot back at gore won him just enough votes. It's something Hilary failed to do when trump tried something similar with her.

Admittedly I don’t remember the Gore/Bush debates very well cause I was only 16 and not very interested in politics yet. Was Gore uninformed and/or actually making Bush seem like the smarter one? Cause I thought Bush seemed clueless compared to Kerry in ‘04.

I think people looked at Bush as a regular and relatable guy. Someone you want to have a beer with. Gore probably came across as elitist. Another thing from the debates that hurt Gore  was making those sounds whenever Bush said something stupid, like a pfftt sound or whatever. People didn’t like that.

Professorial geek lecturer versus the guy who can yuck it up, laugh at himself and you can have a beer with. Gore claiming he invented the internet didn’t help either. That all said, don’t forget the preppie posse with popped collars on their polo shirts banging on the glass and intimidating the county canvassing employees as they counted ballots. And the repub Secretary of State and Supreme Court. GWB and Darth Cheney should be in prison.

Bush was definitely more relatable in terms of electability. Gore was no doubt more intelligent and had more to offer, but he was stiff and humorless, and carried the Tipper baggage. After her PMRC bullshit, I wouldn't have voted for Al just based on Tipper's influence with him. I ended up voting for neither Bush nor Gore. But Al/Tipper was a tough package to sell as first family.

Actually sounds a little like Hillary vs. Trump. I know someone will say “what’s relatable about Trump?” I dunno. He likes golf and pro wrestling like I do. If he wasn’t completely insane, he may have gotten my vote based on stuff like that. He didn’t. But he got the vote of others by way of the facade that he’s relatable or a man of the people.

Yeah, I mean, I grew up thinking you want the President to be the smartest guy in the room. When I watched the Gore Vs. Bush debates, I was thinking Gore would win because he was smarter, lol. I was wrong. That was first election I voted in. Election night was absolutely insane. I remember watching with my parents and my Dad being shocked when they announced all the swing states for Gore. He just kept saying “Wow” Yeah, unbelievable.

You know I often forget about this period of time.  I was angry at Tipper for years.  I didn't hold it against Al and voted butterfly style in Florida.  And it was a bizarre ballot.  I can see how people got that wrong.  But Bush definitely came off more normal and the GOP did not have the baggage it now carries.

Why would you lump Pete in with Warren?
    Easy targets to exploit.
But why? He's a moderate war veteran.

Buttigieg is gay and is an easy target.  I would love to be proven wrong as he is very likeable and checks a lot of boxes.

After Trump's coming up I don't see him going very far.  America can be ugly sometimes.

That doesn't mean that the solution is to cave in to that and choose a candidate as straight, male and lily-white as they come, just to avoid annoying the deplorables.

I read all of the sentences.

I don't believe that "most other people" would disagree with my comment. Some, yes, but most? No.

I don't believe that the answer is to always cave in and take the safe path, which in this case seems to be seen as Biden.

If the US isn't ready at this point for a female or LGBTQ president then it's probably never going to be.
