Brian, with all due respect, climate change themed albums will never sell well. His Monsanto album was just plain brutal. And I fucking love Neil Young - I still remember meeting his grumpy ass and loved every second of it.brianlux said:Ledbetterman10 said:

Perhaps a good subtitle for this thread would be, "Why is global warming not the most important topic being discussed during the Democratic debates?"This is unforgivable. If this keeps up, and we think a government run run by democrats is going to save our sorry asses, we could well be gravely mistaken. Out of 2 hours, less than 10 minutes was devoted to the most pressing issue of our time. Do you have any idea how hard it is for me not to believe this thought right now: "We are fucked"?

I'm sorry to say this, but I only believe in believing inasmuch as assuring that we take the actions that really don't make our lives any less rich by living more ecologically-friendly. As far as hope goes, my bucket is empty, and my only sympathy is for the animals that will be given back their rightful home in an obliterated state.brianlux said:Perhaps a good subtitle for this thread would be, "Why is global warming not the most important topic being discussed during the Democratic debates?"This is unforgivable. There is a lot of hope in the possibility that the earth will thrive with life once again when humans are either greatly reduced in numbers or gone all together. Barring a cataclysmic disaster, life could continue on earth for another 1.75 billion years or so.benjs said:

I think the chances of there not being another extinction level asteroid impact to the earth in a lot less time than that is nil.brianlux said:

That could be, I really don't know what the chances are or aren't. A big enough asteroid could kill the planet. But there has been life on earth for at least 3.5 billion years so why would the chances of life continuing on for half that long be nil?PJ_Soul said:

Extinction level is like what killed the dinosaurs. It doesn't mean it would kill every living organism. But it would kill off a massive majority of existing animals and plants and completely change the Earth's ecosystem - it's like starting from scratch.brianlux said:

Exactly. And maybe that's what this planet needs- a thorough cleansing by fire.PJ_Soul said:
