I bet most people have had enough of Cincy's lessons on how to post properly.cincybearcat said:

Oh FFS. That isn't backpedaling. That is me clarifying what I actually was saying. Backpedaling is literally lying. Don't call me a liar. I was explaining to Brian exactly what I meant, since he misunderstood. And obviously I wasn't clear enough. So why did you see fit to drop in and accuse me of not being honest? Just to be some kind of snotty instigator?RYME said:
Nice backpedaling.PJ_Soul said:I didn't mean you're an anti-bee force. I wasn't talking about you at all when I said that - of course I know you're not anti-bee dude. And "people like you" would be "people who are being convinced that it's the honey bee industry." That is what I thought you were very wrong about, and you literally mentioned maybe being wrong, so I said I thought you are. Seriously Brian. Just ask me when you have a reaction like that, instead of essentially attacking me for things I didn't even mean. I don't understand why you keep doing this, lol.
1) Brian you are very wrong
2) Brian it’s your fault how you read my message
And I’m honestly just trying to be helpful here, but somehow I doubt you will think that.

I can't figure that one out either. This isn't the first time people have freaked when a team outscored another by a huge number, and then said the team who scored all the goals were being jerks for doing it. From what I've been able to tell, some literally think a team who is kicking another's ass should just stop trying and not score against them anymore, PLUS not celebrate the goals that are piling up in their favour. I personally think these are super unreasonable expectations, at least at that level of play. Sure, if it was a bunch of little kids playing, I can understand if the parent coaches had a little chat with the winning team about trying not to rub it in the losers' faces. But these are elite adult athletes. The idea that a good team should pull things back so as not to hurt the other team's feelings just seems silly to me. I'm sure the Thai team can suck it up and take it, and if they can't, that seems like their problem.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. The Thai's have not complained one bit. And the goalie tweeted Carli Lloyd yesterday and thanked her for the post-game talk. The only people outraged are the soccer mommies and daddies in this country who are offended that the game wasn't treated like a recreational soccer game. This is a great example of outrage culture, where busy bodies make a thing about something that isn't a thing. Some of it is going on in this treat on AET: https://community.pearljam.com/discussion/243583/u-s-soccer-thread/p25
One of the dumber things to be outraged about, but it sparked quite a controversy with the sensitive, participation trophy crowd.

I say deport them and put them in aprons doing the dishes in the kitchen where women belong. They ain't got no business being in sports.(This has been a test of the National Outrage Culture Association. Do not adjust your sets.)"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I agree as well (which is why I kind of make fun of some of this stuff). There are definitely things to be outraged about in this world from the macro (global warming, tons and tons of plastic in the oceans, etc.) to the micro (the way developers are completely wrecking the county I live in as I watch big swaths of land being raked over by monstrous bulldozers). But a soccer game? I just don't see it.PJ_Soul said:

It means play defense, and don't let the other team score 13 goals.
