And so on.But aside from that... I just don't think she's brash, lol. I'm not really sure why she is being labelled like that. She's blunt, which is good. i mean how did people view Chris Christie etc on the opposite side of the political system?
But I also think it’s weak sauce to claim that anyone that disagrees with a female politician is just doing so cause it’s a she. I find Bernie more annoying that AOC, But I still find her annoying too! Lots of annoying politicians though.

no, it can't be any of that.

This is the latest conservative hang up for AOC's tweets on the Alabama ruling of abortion.

What better source to show the disdain than FOX, right?0 -

nope. but the way it was worded could leave it open to interpretation. after reading it a few times, it is easy to see how the right would interpret it the way some of them did.mrussel1 said:

I really don't see how it can be read any way other than what was described by that Fox article.
"Alabama lawmakers are making all abortions a felony punishable w jailtime, incl women victimized by rape+incest."
She is clearly saying women who are rape victims will be punished, she mentions women and not "cases of rape" as she later claimed. And instead of admitting she was wrong, she's blaming the character limits on twitter. At the very least it was extremely poorly worded, take the blame for that at least.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -

now, i should quantify, i haven't watched many videos of her until today. i found her brash and annoying on social media (which i did mention in my original assessment), but watching her on the floor, i do admire her tenacity and how well she knows the issues. and the videos i have watched (only a couple) she has been level headed but challenging.

Here's the thing I've decided about her. While she may have the direction right, she is terrible at details, either intentionally or intentionally.
1. When Amazon pulled back from NYC, she declared that the taxpayers were saved 3 billion. This was false. Amazon was to receive a subsidy.
2. Yesterday, she rightly called out Merck on truvada prices, but declared they had 2 billion in profits. No, they had 2 billion in revenue. Big difference.
3. Now this
I don't know if she and her staff don't monitor details or choose to embellish. Either way, it hurts her credibility.0 -
she knows what she's talking about, so I do believe her when she says it is being misread. She is saying "all abortions are punishable by jailtime, (even abortions performed) on women victimized by rape and incest"mace1229 said:I really don't see how it can be read any way other than what was described by that Fox article.

I think it's naive to think that her gender doesn't have something do with all of that TBH. There is NO way in hell the GOP would be fixated on her if she were a man, nor the media, therefore she wouldn't actually be polarizing.HughFreakingDillon said:

She never mentions the doctors. That's an important detail.0

I think they would. I feel her young age and her somewhat "rogue" way of doing things has garnered her more attention (both negative and positive) than her gender does. The reason the GOP is "fixated" on her isn't because, as I've seen many suggest, she's a strong intelligent woman and that frightens old, white, male senators. Rather, I think the GOP has recognized that she's a perfect punching bag. And she is. While most freshman congressfolk are virtually unknown, she's a celebrity, and her popularity enables the GOP to suggest that she's speaking for the entire democratic party. So Hannity (or whoever) can attribute something like the Green New Deal to the entire party even when that's false, and make the entire party look bad (to him anyway) rather than just one freshman congresswoman.PJ_Soul said:

of course being a woman is part of the package, just Obama being black was part of the package as well, but it seems as though some suggest, actually I think have actually stated, that her gender is the ENTIRE reason, which I think is false.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
