Michelle Obama - "Divorced Dad" comment

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/16/politics/michelle-obama-donald-trump/index.html

I get her overall point here.  As a dad (not divorced), it kinda sucks that this is the way we look at the Dads.  I don't want to get overly outraged here as she was just trying to use a metaphor, but I would have expected more from her.

What is wrong with divorced Dad's?  I worked with 3 divorced Dad's, 2 of them had sole custody of their children and I would have loved them as a father, the other had joint custody and the mother was all too happy to let him have them as often as liked, maybe she meant divorced Moms.  She like her husband are clueless...

Haha....let me get this straight: You guys are upset at her depiction of divorced dads? Really?

My goodness. Is there not a segment of the population, in this day and age, that gets offended at any hint of a slight against them anymore?! This pc culture is pretty much a joke at this point.

It's a metaphor that the article says was used in jest....either way, I think the metaphor applies.

Everyone knows she was speaking about white males and stripping them of their Christian masculinity. I’m just surprised she didn’t cancel Easter too.

A private citizen has to be more careful of their metaphors than the President?

Must be tough for her not to call him a giant walking pile of garbage, or worse, after all of the bad shit he has said about her husband.

Yeah I said not too outraged...but seems weird for her. I mean her trying to find the right metaphor must have been like a retard trying to piss in the corner of a round room. Or wait...is that a bad metaphor?

The country supported him because they were so sick of how PC America had become. Now people are upset that MO made a metaphor about a divorced dad speaking about how the country is right now.

I'm making it about what the atmosphere of the country has become. Our president has absolutely no filter and can say anything he wants but private citizens are held to a higher standard.

    That makes no sense.

Weird. Cause we can actually talk about things on their own merits without putting it on the trump scale.

If the trump scale is all that matters then we are in bigger trouble.

She's better than that.  I don't care that she was talking about Trump but I do feel her generalizations about divorced dads was pretty shitty and wrong.

Yeah that’s all I’m saying. If I said that the country on Donald trump was like a stay at home mom...watching tv and eating bons and all over social media all day and then complaining about how busy they are in the evening...I don’t that would go over well.

So no one will complain about how ineffective her 'when they go low, we go high' mindset is/was anymore. Deal?

People who support Trump have no leg to stand on when it comes to this stuff for the rest of eternity.

Seeing people in here getting so offended over this little joke, while the president demeans, insults, and makes a mockery of the office he holds multiple times per day, every day is absolutely fucking hilarious. Hypocrisy at it's highest possible point.
