    Right?  A team who needs infielders thinks a top 10 player in the game who happens to be an infielder is a great fit.  Thanks captain obvious.

    Yep, that's the only way they'll get either guy I think....and since the biggest free agent contract Reinsdorf has ever given in $68M, very hard to see them outbidding everyone for Harper or Machado.  Future is bright with a ton of exciting prospect and they'll prob start competing in 2020, but they're still a tough sell right now.

    Yankees had him drive right into the stadium.  You guys make him get harassed by the rif raf already so he knows what he's in for.



    And can't even step out into the cold to greet him.  Amateur hour over here

    safer to walk alone in South Philly than the Bronx.  besides letting construction workers greet him worked for Jim Thome

    Phillies don't need to do the Dog & Pony show? More of a down to earth approach?

    And if that were the case at least walk out of the stadium and greet the guy for fucks sake. That’s middle school etiquette 

    in all seriousness none of these visits matter  you may get the guy because Hal is a cheap fuck, I just find it amusing the guy is basically walking through the rain on his way in getting harassed by construction workers and media

    That I am, but I realized it was stupid. All things Yankees and Hal are pissing me off. This team is poised to win the world series now and it seems they are being cheap and I get annoyed at everything

    Machado has played something like 50 games at yankee stadium. He has been there for Old Timer's day as an opponent, he's boys with Arod.  He knows what the Yankees are and they know what he is.  What do they have to say to each other?  If the money works out he'll be a Yankee, if Hal sucks as much as I think, he won't.

    I do like that Beltran was there at dinner as it is very respected with the latin players and can speak to playing for a variety of teams.  That said, it's about the money and right now, the only way I see the Yankees getting him is if he takes a discount to play for the team he wants to play for, which i am 99% sure isn't going to happen.

    My prediction is you guys get manny, dodgers or nats get Harper and Yankees get two legit relievers 

    edit: the only thing I’m holding out hope for is that the Yankees can’t be this close to winning it all, sign J.A. happ for gods sake and show interest in machado knowing what he’s going to cost and not sign him.
