I get that and I am not ok with it. We also have how many murders with guns everyday in this country, but when does it make headlines; mass shootings. Like I said, it gets politicized because it hits the "easy" button for whatever party opposes a key component of the crime. I honestly don't know how many illegal immigrants are out murdering women, but I am also not blind to think that this is the only one or think that all illegal immigrants are murderers. Just like I know when a mass shooting occurs, it's not the only time we have a gun problem in this fucking country and that not every gun owner is a mass murderer.my2hands said:

This hits on part of the issue having to do with vetting who comes into our country. We just don’t know if they are here trying to make livings or if they are escaping prosecution in another country for raping/murdering, etc. I, for one, am all about background checks for gun ownership as well as immigrant citizenship and removing those rights (gun ownership and citizenship) for the individuals that do not comply with those laws.tbergs said:

There is some inherent desire to try and defend this one illegal immigrant so it doesn't paint a bad picture of all immigrants or illegal immigrants, but no way in hell would anyone every try to defend a mass shooter. No, with migrant labor. Team Trump Treason tightened the rules and made the process more difficult for migrant labors from south of the border to come and work legally. As such, they have a labor shortage. So, instead of the jobs being filled by Americans, who don't want to do the work for the wages provided, because consumers won't pay the price for crab meat if you jacked labor rates, lets close down and put more people out of work (isn't that the argument against a "living wage," that consumers won't pay and businesses will fail and unemployment will go up?). Sounds like the crab market may not be or should not be sustainable on the industrial scale. I bet the smaller family businesses are okay with this...regardless, this has no bearing whatsoever on the conversation at hand concerning an “illegal” immigrant with no concern about the laws of the land he is living in.

This is a terrible tragedy that highlight the issue we have in America with guys thinking they can do creepy stuff and it’s ok and with immigration (in this case). Doesn’t mean all illegal immigrants are bad BUT it certainly highlights that some are and we need immigration reform fast. True reform.

Ok, and the right to bear arms side of the equation go on the defensive for the same reason people are going on the defensive here. I don't think it's necessary or justified in either instance. Both situations clearly identify that there is a problem with some aspect of our current laws and policies. I don't care what ideal or reason the OP brought up this story instead of one where a white male murdered a white female.
