WTF?! It was one of the best main sets they've played in years!!!!

Yeah I know, I'm only moaning because I'm a girly and wanted to hear black!!
I have completely different thoughts about the setlist this morning. Like I said, it was nice to hear a lot of songs that I've not heard live before.

Forgot to say that I managed to sprain my ankle during Comatose but continued to jump around on it. I have a lump the size of a tennis ball on it this morning but God it was worth it!!

Ok I recorded a few songs with my camera, but just the audio, didn't wanna hold the camera up all night and spoil other people's views, so here's Long Road: http://s185.photobucket.com/albums/x64/jonfisher_photos/?action=view&current=MOV00128.flv

I'll put the rest up over the next few days, along with a full report on the gig!

Show number 7 for me.. was amazing to say the least!!!!!! The problem I have with going to a PJ gig though is that one is never enough!!!! Need another PJ fix and it's only been 12 hours... ;)

I thought the set list was perfect, a great mixture and I thought the songs off "Pearl Jam" came accross really well.

I agree to have such a small number of merchandise stalls seemed daft but I got 2 t shirts and a poster so I'm quite happy. You just had to keep calm and be patient!

What a night!! Best day of my life apart from my wedding day :)

    And where was Stones hat!!??

  • What I want to know is - and I have NO idea because the whole gig was so bloody NOISY - How tight were the band? Did they actually play the songs technically well? Yes the atmosphere was electric, but the gig was so LOUD I won't really know how tight the gig was until a boot/vid comes out.

Reading last year was probably the tightest gig I've ever seen - the band were on FORM - but I'm a bit worried that shit sound might have put the guys of on occasion last night. As a drummer, I'm just thinking what a fucking nightmare I would've had behind that kit with those acoustics.

  • Can't really put into words what that was like. Every Pearl Jam gig I go to seems to be better than the last. Ed was the star of the show, vocals were incredible, particularly on No More, which showed he still has what he had ten years ago. Great solos from Mike on Immortality, Why Go, Porch, Alive et al.

I would've liked a few more songs, but for what it's worth I wont complain, I mean, how could I?! The setlist goes to show Even Flow, Betterman, Daughter etc don't make the show. They can play pretty much anything and still touch a dozen thousand people. Can't wait for the next. We all walk the long road. There's no need to say goodbye...

    Thanks

Just got back home pretty tired :)

Had a lot of time on the train and plane to reflect on the show.....the only thing I can come up with is: Hell Yeah!!!.....and........WOW!!!

Hope the band comes out with the same insane energy when they hit Copenhagen :D

Thanks for a great night, an awesome set, and a fun crowd!!!

Well it was my first ever PJ show so it was pretty amazing!!! I enjoyed everything about it except....the stupid crowd who thought it would be fun to mosh!! My girlfriend isn't very tall so when all these assholes started pushing everyone around I had to try and stop them from crushing her! Luckily there were some really nice people who helped me get her off to the side of the stage. Then my only problem was this woman who kept jumping on my foot! But I didn't care too much as long as my girlfriend was okay!!

All in all though, it was an incredible experience. Though next time I don't think i'll get fan club tickets!

Oh yeah, I think 10c should think about sending out their tickets instead of making everyone wait in the pouring rain to pick them up...just a thought!!
It's always funny until someone gets hurt, and then it's just hilarious!!

ho ho ho... i was going to get there a bit earlier but it was pissing down so i stayed at work for another hour, left at 2pm, got up to Wembley pretty quick
and just walked up and picked up the tickets immediately, there was no queue at all by then...

then said hi a few of the folks in the queue and headed off to the pub...!
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

I completely agree. I thought Ed's vocals were amazing, especially on Long Road and SOLAT.

Yesterday was the 2nd best Pearl jam concert Ive seen, after the Astoria, and much better than wembley 2000.

I agree, he still has the most amazing voice.

Nearer the end, I didn't want it to stop either, but, talking about vocals, it seemed to me that it had been plenty long enough for Mr Vedder's vocal chords! During RITFW and even Indifference I got the feeling it became a bit harder for him to sing... But maybe that's just me worrying ;);)

Pearl Jam Wembley Arena writeup like page 6 of the Independent of something like that...

They big it up but spend no time talking about the actual gig!

Anyway - great that they got press coverage.

Anyone have the misfortune of sitting in the first 6 rows of N8 or N6. Can't remember which it was. People up on their feet all around and they sat there like dummies. Think they had personality bypasses before the show. For those, this is for you :p
