    True. When I moved back here and ordered a pie over the phone from the closest pizzeria, the dumbass on the other end was extremely confused. 

    I've already told my children that if they start calling water fountains/coolers "bubblahs," sprinkles "jimmies" and milkshakes "frappes" that I'm disowning them.

    Not necessarily all Americans.  It's more of a dialect thing, though not exactly regional as much as it is convention.  Traditionalists tend to call it pie, modernists call it pizza.  I use both interchangeably and don't really think about it much.

    One thing is for certain, if you call it "za" you'll probably get punched in the face by both the pie and pizza crews.

    I say this with the fear of getting punched in the face, but I do call it za on occasion. I know others that do too, so maybe it’s a Chicago thing? Or maybe the people I know are worthy of being punched too. Lol
