That said... It also sounds like he might want to give more funding to NASA to work on asteroid defense, in case we're threatened by a big one, and that is, IMO, a very worthy project. I think that is exactly the kind of thing NASA ought to be working on (aside from figuring out warp speed travel, obvi!). Asteroid threats to Earth are real, and even if moron Trump has a child's idea of a "Space Force", if that fantasy involves awesome machines that will redirect asteroids with Earth in their path, then it's not ALL bad. But fuck, that all should be an international effort. Trump seems to think it's a job that just the US can handle, which is idiotic in the extreme.

Space exploration and research definitely needs to be an international effort. The asteroid threat to earth and how to deflect would have to be an international effort for sure. I think space should stay weapon free. Human free would be a good idea as well. I'm sure the brass at the pentagon were just rolling their eyes at the of a space force...before he builds a space force America must first be able to start manned flights to the ISS again...but I'm not a huge supporter of space travel.PJ_Soul said:
