Speaking of defending Trump, I read through some of the comments to the article I posted above and a couple of others on the National Post website (most of which were actually from the NY Times). It's stunning and disturbing to read some of the Trump supporters' reasoning, and a good window into that mindset of "Trump can do no wrong and all the criticism of him is butthurt Liberal media". One commenter said, apparently in all seriousness, that she admired trump because as a 70 year old he selflessly gave up his profitable businesses and the billionaire lifestyle he earned in order to make the country a better place.

People actually believe this shit. It's mind boggling. I can almost see the point of view of those who say "yeah, he's a crook and a liar, but he's sticking it to the government and I like that". But to think there are those who believe he is earnest and well meaning?
i think their are two types that still defend him. the stubborn ones who just can't admit they were wrong about him and will never give it up or admit it and will always blame others. and of course the 2nd type are the utter morons.  i used this after he was elected and i still think its appropriate and funny.

there was a lot of that when Obama was in office too. many people thought Barry could do no wrong, and anyone who criticized him was a racist.

but yeah, to believe his motives are pure and philanthropic is delusional.
Delusional because Trump has not given up anything at all. He clearly meant to and means to benefit personally from this presidency. That plan may backfire, but so far, these ways in which he and his family personally benefit through business is what I think is the most impeachable thing about him. There are laws about conflicts of interest that threaten national security, no?

And his current conflicts of interests that he maintains is impeachable. But apparently we need video of trump snorting rails off Putin's rear end for anything to get moving.

And Trump has confirmed he leaked highly classified information to the Russians.  Dude has been complaining about leakers 24/7 and has now confirmed he leaked classified information with the Russians.

Where are the Canadian trump supporters on here to defend his very dangerous, stupid and reckless action?
Latest tweet from President Trump folks, (and it answers your question Bentleyspop)
As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism. I have been asking Director Comey & others, from the beginning of my administration, to find the LEAKERS in the intelligence community.

It took him 12 hours or so to contradict McMaster on this issue.  That's even faster than he wrecked Rosenstein's credibility... which beat his previous record with Nunes.  The man can wreck reputations with great efficiency... got to give him that!

Way to make fighting ISIS even harder by showing you can't be trusted with intel. Expect to get less in the future.

The problem with thinking you're the only one who can effectively communicate with the public. He literally can't contain himself for more than 24 hours if it appears he did something erroneously based on his staff's statements so he comes out and acts like he's some sort of genius and it was all part of his strategery (God bless you GW).
    It's a hopeless situation...

NY times always giving a good behind the scenes look at the sinking ship. I'm thinking a trip to the Middle East and Europe will provide a week long schadenfreude festival!

I'm gonna miss Spicey, but we know how he likes to have women around him. I find her comments on the relationship they would need to have hilarious. He'd be trying to move on her like a bitch to quote the man child himself.

"If you want to be successful and do communications with President Trump, you have to be someone who he actually wants to spend a little bit of time with,” she said on the air. “You’ve got to insist on getting in front of POTUS, talk to him, and have like five, six minutes with him before you go out there and take the podium, and otherwise you’re driving blind.”

“It has to be somebody with a very close relationship, where there’s trust there, there’s inherent loyalty, someone who’s been there from the beginning,” she added.

This whole thing is another massive over exaggeration by the Washington post, creating sweeping hysteria and filling the hate tanks of those who eat it up.  The media loves this shit, they can basically write an article on what Donald ate for breakfast and 1/3 of the country will lose their minds.  Totally Donald dum-dum of him again to try to defend it and squirm this way and that way for sure, it just makes it look way worse as he always seems to make it do.  His consistent inability to take criticism is amazing to me, but becoming less so as it's obviously how it's going to be.

alex jones and the rest of the far right would have literally had a heart attack if obama had done the same.

however, are you really saying that sharing classified intel with an adversarial nation is an overexaggeration?
