    If true.....holy shit.

"Donald Trump sacks the acting US attorney general after she questions the legality of his immigration ban."

Everybody, including her, knew she would be fired before midnight

Need more heroes like her to take a stand and fall on the sword if need be
    Fucking unreal.....unreal.
It took Nixon an entire term plus a year before he sacked his AG in the Saturday Night Massacre. It takes Trump a week.. what an overachiever.
    Interesting point..
The Saturday Night Massacre was the term used by political commentators to refer to U.S. President Richard Nixon's dismissal of independent special prosecutor Archibald Cox, and as a result the resignations of Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus on October 20, 1973, during the Watergate scandal.

The difference between then and now Richardson and Yates, is that Richardson resigned in protest to Nixons request to fire the Watergate special prosecutor, whereas Yates defied the EO and instructed the Justice Department to not enforce it.

check out the NYT version of events!

What I find interesting is that Yates as AG takes no position on the EO, read it for yourself and ask, on what grounds did she take the position to not enforce the EO?
Althou she lays out her responsibilities clearly, "Im not convinced" Yates stood up in "principle", stood for the law or the constitution (say vs politics) by defying President Trumps EO.

If you do not know whether or not you are on drugs, then you are on drugs...regardless, it is not a hallucination...there is most definitely a President Trump small handily signing executive order after executive order right now. Buckle up!

Yeah, the circumstances were totally different and to be honest, I'm not sure Trump had any choice but to fire her. But of course the ridiculous press statement that went out with it just reinforces my opinion of him.

I was watching a stand-up comic the other night and she made a really interesting point about the "Make America Great Again" slogan. Great for who? Old white men? Because for black people, hispanics, indians, women, etc - there is no such thing as "the good ol' days."

Cristela Alonzo. She wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Laughs at her own jokes a little too much.

He ruined that movie for many already like he has for Rolling Stones fans using his songs. And I thought Maroon 5 ruined Micks legacy.

    Gowdy

“Our nation has a long and rich history of welcoming those fleeing persecution. We also have a long and rich history of liberating those suffering under oppression. We are the most welcoming and generous country in the world, and we are a country of immigrants.

The world we find ourselves in is dangerous and becoming increasingly so. Since national security and public safety are the preeminent functions of government, there is a fundamental duty to ensure the necessary background investigations can be done to stop anyone intent on doing harm from exploiting Americans’ generosity and taking more innocent lives.

American people deserve border and interior security. They deserve to know who is coming to our country, for what purpose, and for how long. They deserve to be assured those seeking entry into the country – regardless of the length of stay – have been vetted thoroughly and do not represent a security risk.

I am committed to doing everything we can to keep Americans safe just as I am committed to defending religious liberty and providing refuge to those fleeing persecution.”

Pretty typical right wing manipulation of the ignorant in statements like these. I've seen more than one, where how they speak about the refugee program suggests there's minimal to no vetting currently, which is the opposite of reality, but you'd have to be informed about what the vetting currently is. If you're ignorant, you see this and say "go Gowdy".
