I guess you're right that pro-isolationism is being seen as a feature (since it's in line with nationalism). Flippancy is not exactly a great virtue for anyone attempting to maintain diplomatic relationships with foreign countries, nor is arrogance, but as you said, people may truly put nationalism on such a pedestal that these are moot points. With regards to the acceptance of his "winging it", this seems like a very short-sighted decision on the part of the public: anyone in any form of project management will tell you that changing your mind on a design at the eleventh hour is a costly venture (whether your cost is in effort or dollars) - I'd imagine that the POTUS exhibiting these tendencies would be a fiscal nightmare. All of this being said, sadly, I think your fairly low expectations of the public's perceptions are probably accurate, so I agree - the Clinton campaign must react pretty quickly if they wish to garner support.
I agree with you on the project management front but the public keeps hearing about his buildings going up "on time and on budget" so he continues to get a pass on this issue.

knowing that he asked why the US can't use nukes whenever they want should scare the fuck out of everyone in the country.

sure you can. not as in "not allowed", but "why shouldn't we".

he asked "if we have nuclear weapons why can't we use them?". he's an ignorant buffoon.

Because we live in dangerous times and we are faced with a binary choice for these times. In my eyes Clinton is corrupt, incompetent and worst of all compromised. I see no upside in her election. Trump ticks me off equally in a whole number of ways but with him I see at least the possibility of upside. A fool's hope maybe but a no brainer when compared to the alternative.

My point wasn't about what she accomplished but rather whether the media created her. You can look up her senate voting record and work the CF does on your own and make your own determination about what's she's accomplished. My guess is is that it far surpasses anything you may have accomplished.

I am not sure a steady hand is what you want. A steady hand is what you want when you are sailing through a storm. The problem with that analogy is that most of the time the storm will pass so all you need to do is stay afloat. This storm ain't passing. Risks will need to be taken.

BS, are you saying that the only positive with Trump is "maybe he's better", and that that's enough? Without this storm analogy, what actual risks are you feeling that Trump is prepared to take compared to Clinton? Also, in what ways has Clinton shown her incompetence (again, above and beyond the ways Trump has)? Finally, who has compromised her? Is she in bed with Putin? The Iranians?

Edit: I see the threats you've listed above, my bad.
