One thing I gotta give Trump is he's opened the door for non-politicians to have success in presidential elections. Ross Perot had a modicum of success running as a third-party candidate. But for Trump to flat-out win the Republican nomination fair and square? That changes everything going forward. It'll be interesting four years from now when Martin O'Malley and Snoop Dogg are battling it out for the Democratic nod lol

The Clown is officially the nominee. I give him 3 to 1 odds to win.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it all depends on who they pick for VP. They can make or break anyone. Just ask McCain.

    Did somebody say "Gary Johnson"??
That's a politician that I would support. I'm surprised that democrats and hard right republicans would go a libertarian route though. Johnson is a loud voice for the very least governmental intervention possible. He is a very close comparative to Ron Paul.

The libertarians are on the right side of abortion rights and LBGT rights so that alone will sway some Dems.

are you just angry because of his stance on illegal immigration ? no I'm not being a wise guy.
that is one the thing's that seems to be your biggest complaint, the train has already hashed and re-hashed the topic of illegal immigration but now that somebody running for president says he want's to stop it and speaks up about it some folks are going crazy over it because it my become a reality and in my opinion he is the better choice of what we have.

    Godfather.

there's nothing wrong with trying to curb illegal immigration (unless you care about the economy). but the way he's gone about talking about it has taken race relations in the US back 75 years.

Deportation is impossible. If he wanted to get real and not pander to the least sophisticated person, he would talk about a pathway to citizenship.

A libertarian stance has been to leave laws at the local level. Abortion laws and laws such as LBGT would be decided on a state or local level.

That's the one thing I've wondered about Trump. He has never spoken about the problems with attaining citizenship in this country.

I have to say that I disagree with this statement. You are advocating small government and weak federal system. Libertarians believe all government intervention in the markets and people's lives are the issue. The doctrine if Free Will should not be encumbered by local interventionists either.

As a socialist, I would personally not even vote before voting libertarian. I do appreciate some of their viewpoints and at least understand where they're coming from with the viewpoints I don't appreciate, but obviously I strongly support provincial and/or federal government regulation and intervention when it comes to banks, healthcare, certain social programs, and several other things. I think libertarianism would be a complete disaster overall.

I know this is from 2012, but still:

As of 2012, the population of immigrants in the United States illegally is estimated to be approximately 11.43 million, roughly 3.7% of the entire US population. 59% of the immigrants in the country illegally are from Mexico, and 25% of all immigrants in the country illegally reside in California.

I wonder if Obama will be invited to the inauguration. I'm guessing not. The transition will probably go a little like, "Hey Obama get your shit out!"

You mean like how the whole country said that to Bush in 08? I guess the difference is that Obama has a 55% approval rate right now. Wait until he gets on the campaign trail and eviscerates Trump.

As Canadian, you must be blissfully unaware of the electoral college. Tell me the swing states that Romney lost that he is winning, enough to get to to 270.

That doesn't make any sense at all. Our POTUS is chosen through the Electoral College, not the 'nod system'. Come back with some logic please.
