Besides the hard core there's simply no demand for super boxes for these albums...heck the vs./vitalogy one is STILL up for sale on pj.com...it's understandable why they won't do it...Spiritual_Chaos said:0 -

I meant the cd single. Back then they'll release the singles overseas first. And then 2 years later or so release it here. That's why I believe Alive and Even Flow even though they were hits. Never got to gold or platinum statusI miss igotid880 -
Just purchased them all. I don't think this affects the value of the original pressing. Makes them more rare IMO.1998 - Cleveland, OH - 8/26

Jeff has stated several times he is tired of "looking back". he seems VERY busy these days with all of his side ventures anyway. I'd prefer him to do his skate park initiatives and new music with friends than just putting a box set full of stuff I don't need anyway. (or obviously, whatever makes the man happy).Hugh Freaking Dillon is currently out of the office, returning sometime in the fall0

I am really proud of 10C for not doing the massive combined boxset that I think some were assuming they would do. Love that they are just reissuing them the way they ought to be. Those big boxsets just seem like conspicuous consumerism to me. Also proud of them for not splitting the albums between 2 discs in an attempt to make them seem more substantial (so that they can charge more). Curious about the comment re No Code finnally being mastered for vinyl for the first time. Will the reissue sound better than the original?? I've got both originals, but these aren't expensive, so if one or both actually sound BETTER than the OGs, I'd probably grab them.

I don't need the super duper deluxe magnum box set with all the vinyl and stuff, but I was really hoping something would come of the Moline/Milwaukee shows from 2014. Or at least some unreleased stuff and a show from 96. Something like the deluxe CD sets from Ten and Vs/Vitalogy.
I hate to complain becuase I know a lot of you have been waiting for something like this, but as someone that doesn't have a turntable and loves No Code this is pretty underwhelming. Especially considering this is probably the least documented era of their career.
Happy for all you vinyl lovers though!0 -
Agree. For those of us who don't have the originals and don't want to pay a mint for them (or for a box set), this is amazing.PJ_Soul said:I am really proud of 10C for not doing the massive combined boxset that I think some were assuming they would do. I smile, but who am I kidding...0 -
I think if you paid a lot of money for originals, you were enough of a vinyl lover that you knew this day would come and could care less cause you didn't buy the records for their value.
I can only speak for myself of course."Born on third, thinks he got a triple."0 -
Originals will always retain value, maybe not the crazy numbers PJ fans will pay, but more than reissues.scurtis said:

I'm both bummed and relieved, to be honest. I'm glad I don't have to fork out another $150 for a box set, but on the same token, I'd love some 96-98 era ephemera and a show on vinyl to go with it. Buuuuuut... I'm still so freakin' glad they are finally re-issuing these. I bought them both within the last 2 years on the secondary market, but am anxious to hear these heavyweight remasters. My OG Yield had a scratch on it, too.subpop2000 said:hey guys... i've got the official word from the ten club on the box set...

I have the originals and am thrilled they reissued them, in fact I ordered these anyway. For most of us (I think) It was never about having the originals for their value and since selling them was never going to happen, who cares what they are worth.
The fact that they are giving these a vinyl mastering job may make these actually better than the originals anyway.0 -
Just a heads-up, one of the advantages of stretching to two LPs is that you can master the vinyl in 45rpm. If this is done properly, it can be one of the most substantial sound improvements you can make on a record. In those cases, the price is almost always higher but the quality difference is huge.PJ_Soul said:I am really proud of 10C for not doing the massive combined boxset that I think some were assuming they would do. this is a question that should be answered. i suspect these will be mastered and cut from hi-res digital files.buck502000 said:@Santos L. Halper are these going to be cut from the original analog tapes and where will the records be pressed? Also, what does "mastered specifically for vinyl" entail? Your pal bUCK

Preordered The whole package (even though I already have No Code).
I just noticed the singles after ordering the LP's. I had to buy them separately (But I don't care).http://zarofflegroupe.free.fr/indexA.htm

It does improve sound quality, but I have to draw the line at needing to flip a record every 2 songsbenjs said:I'm perfectly ok with 33rpm albums
