I wonder why they didn't reissue the singles from the previous three albums, there are plenty around of course but anyway, they could have done it... on an unrelated matter, was Hail Hail ever released as a single on vinyl? I've seen CD's, not vinyl, I checked time and time again, specially on discogs... anyway, praise be the reissues, viva la vinyl, great job PJ and 10C!

I highly recommend uturn audiio's orbit player. IMO it's the best bang for your buck.
    I'll check it out. thanks.
I've had it for 2 years and I'm very happy with it.

now that I've think of it, I got really buzzed by these reissues, and I hope, when time comes, they reissue NAIS and Light Years 12" vinyl, Save You in clear vinyl and Love Boat Captain, wonder if they are going to reissue red Last Kiss and why not a special issue of DTE with some other rare B-side

I dont think they are gonna make a new vintage single (in regards to DTE). But yeah, reissuing old singles would be nice. I wish they went back and did them from the first three albums and maybe press a full Dissident set.

Dont really see the point in singles reissues. The Hail Hail will be good as it was never on vinyl but the others are easy to pick up cheap. I suppose they might be better quality sleeves and vinyl but just another example of clogging up the pressing plants. Reissues of singles dont hold on to much value either. I never bought the previous reissue single from vitalogy. Cant really be seen to promote the album really. More a money grab imo.

Saying that if they bring out a full boxset of all the singles from all the albums a bit like the Who, Clash or Green Day then Id be a sucker for that.

Or like the R.E.M. singles box set - love that!

I have that R.E.M set, it's nice, also the Dinosaur Jr but it's a shame they're not bigger.

So individually re releasing the singles is lame, but putting them together in a cardboard box isn't?

And I'd disagree that buying OP of the singles is as affordable as buying reissues.

Also, whats "clogging up plants" isn't reissues, or new pressings, it's that everyone wants their record pressed because it's one of the few profitable avenues for the record industry.

Shit people want to buy isn't what back logs plants, it's unnecessary reissues of 60s, 70s and 80s music that isn't that hard to track down with a little time and effort. Not shit that was pressed in the single digit thousands during the 90s and aughts.

anyone yet ordered the lot internationally?

Just wondering if anyone asked about the customs declaration? or considered ordering singularly?

No they are both a bit lame. I'm saying I'm just a sucker for buying them in a nicely presented set. I agree that everyone wants their record pressed because of the profitability, I also have no issue with 90s LP reissues but I really do think the PJ singles are unnecessary. Pearl Jam Sevens was even unnecessary in my opinion. But yes 60s, 70s, 80s stuff is amongst the worst culprit for clogging up the plants. Typical example of this in the UK this week. Yet another pink copy of the Nevermind the bollocks is out this week as an HMV exclusive, how many times has this been out on RSD and every anniversary in the past few years. Green Clash LP for HMV this week, again it was only out on Blue & White recently. Even Tesco this week have a coloured reissue of London Calling out. These records can be purchased on black at half the price in every vinyl stockist in the UK.

Hey Paul, on the day they were released I ordered the 7 items...is that what you mean? no discussion about customs declaration.

I had to pay customs on a $22.99 record to the UK recently. £15 GBP is the limit but sometimes they get through okay, sometimes they don't. Its always best to pay customs up front to avoid the additional handling charge, that always bumps it up massively.

HMV online have them all available to order in the UK. Sure they will get the LPs in but not so sure about the 7s. I've only ordered the Hail Hail 7 from Ten club and will wait to see how good the pressings are of the LPs.

Not very easily, Amazon.com etc automatically do it.

Thanks, it's good to know. Usually the import tax isn't too bad, it's the handling fee that hurts the most!

Rough Trade are showing Off He Goes (and the other singles) as being limited to 500 copies, haven't seen that mentioned anywhere before. I wonder if that is just their allocation? roughtrade.com/albums/105656

I've heard nothing but praise for Uturn. And they definitely are the best bang for your buck. A buddy of mine has one and loves it. I've listened to several albums at his house and can only vouch for the good things I've heard. And he spent about half of what I did on my Pro-ject.
