Maybe they had something else planned and it didn't work out. That's why it took such a long time this year.

Or they are just slow like always.

Beyonce was a given. But a tad boring with it already been broadcasted with good audio.

Wishing Well is OK but for the love of god make something other than fucking beyonce the B side. This is 3 years in a row I've been disappointed with the 10c single.

Agreed. I'm getting tired of Ed's Hollywood friends appearing on PJ fanclub singles. I'm getting tired of Ed solo appearing on PJ Fanclub singles - Ed is not PJ. I'm getting tired of the live cuts that we've all heard appearing on PJ Fanclub singles - lazy! I'm glad Wishing Well was included. This is the kind of thing that should make up the holiday singles. And based on Tim's posts, I'm really looking forward to the new Deep!

the pearl jam single should be PEARL JAM. not side projects. not ed solo. as much as I love Ed solo-it's not his fan club. I personally think they've just gotten lazy about it.

I think its more of a testament to how they record and release stuff rather than laziness. If they were lazy, we'd just being getting standard live album cuts from random shows as a single. At least they are picking highlights when they are a live cut. Personally I think its cool when they pull from something that would probably never see the light of day otherwise (WW, Pendulumorphasis or whatever, Shattered).

To be honest I'd rather see a great track on a LP than a x-mas single. I'd take a new song/Christmas song/studio outtake for sure, but I think they hold that stuff now to be further worked on or for a outtakes LP.

I think it's a fine choice for the singles. Not sure why everyone is so down on Redemption song with Beyonce. It was a pretty good performance I thought. Is it just because of a bias against Beyonce, or do people really think the performance stinks?? The only point I kind of agree with is that Ed's solo work shouldn't really be on a 10C single. It should be Pearl Jam, not EV.
I like Wishing Well too - cool choice. Glad to read that it's been properly mastered; looking forward to hearing it.

Heh, when you look at that list, there really aren't many exclusive studio cuts released for x-mas. They are more the exception than the rule. If anything this years single is an exception. When it's all said and done, I think people are gonna think this 7" is a winner.

99 Problems/Shattered was by far the worst of the entire lot. I honestly thought it was a joke when I first heard about it.

Last year's I dug because of Pendulumorphosis. This year's I'm excited for Wishing Well. I started a thread a long time ago about playing that very song live. I'm happy we'll be getting a decent sounding track now. But maybe the Ed/Beyonce thing was letdown because it was so predictable. And again, it wasn't PJ.

Just got mine today in Atlanta!

Very excited. I actually never bothered to listen to redemption song, so it'll be new to me to hear the live track.

Very excited to listen to wishing well. Feel a bit embarrassed as I've never heard of Wishing Well. Can't wait to hear it! Thanks 10 Club!

Crying? I saw no tears. I saw some people who like the selections this year, and some who had issues with the way things have gone the past few years. No biggie. Your band can handle a little consumer feedback. We're paying members of the club. We're consumers of this business. We can express both positive and negative feedback of the business' products. Quit being so religious about the band.

If there's one thing being in this fan club has taught me, it's that the more cool and above-and-beyond shit you do for people, the more those people will demand from you.

    Man. You nailed it.

And it's fine if people aren't into Jay z or Beyonce. And if that's what it comes down to fine (though weird how the two of them are singled out over the other 2 dozen guests on X-mas singles, but whatever) But I do think the singles are better than people give them credit for. And I don't see how the inclusion of those tracks are any better or worse than Jeffs Ramon's cover, or Ramblings 2 or any other live track with a guest.

I was at Global Citizen and enjoyed the performance. I spun the vinyl and enjoyed that as well. :)
