Got mine today..Wishing Well side was a misprint and has 2 labels. Plan on retiring with this rarity. haha
The uber-rare double-label, or "dl" as completists like to refer to themselves. I watched a show that was talking to a hoarder, an organized hoarder, but a hoarder nonetheless. He referred to himself as a completist.
As a completist, I just have to get my hands on the dl version of this release....name your price....

Seriously, what's the hold up? There's no reason the download shouldn't available to us by now.

And it's fine if people aren't into Jay z or Beyonce. And if that's what it comes down to fine (though weird how the two of them are singled out over the other 2 dozen guests on X-mas singles, but whatever) But I do think the singles are better than people give them credit for. And I don't see how the inclusion of those tracks are any better or worse than Jeffs Ramon's cover, or Ramblings 2 or any other live track with a guest.
It may very well be about the specific guest performers for some, but not for me. I agree with your last statement completely. I personally prefer it to be pearl jam and pearl jam only. Not ed solo. Not jeff or mike on vocals. Or elvis' cousin. Thats just my preference as a pearl jam fan. Im in the pearl jam fanclub. Not the pearl jam etc fanclub.
"Not the pearl jam etc fanclub."..... very good. i like. you make laugh.
I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.
Huh. I'd never heard WW in my life but I looked at the songwriting credits and assumed it was a Bad Company or Free deep cut. (So half right.) Really dug the song... Kept thinking, "Ed's hitting some really high notes on this one. He hasn't done that in years...."
The fact that it's a rarity dating back to the Ten era is super cool. Not sure why folks are complaining. You might not like Beyonce, but this "Redemption Song" cover isn't a waste of a B-side. Ramblings 1 & 2? THOSE were wastes of B-sides. (And I say this as someone who still considers the two best 10C singles to be "Let Me Sleep" and "Sonic Reducer.")

So Wishing Well wasn't recorded again. This is just a properly mixed/mastered version of the 1990 recording?

Funny, i was just thinking about the "ramblings" b sides after this discussion started. I cant see anyone really listening to those more than once. They were kind of a waste, but at the time, how many fanclub members did they have? maybe the cost of two songs as opposed to one was a bit of a stretch before the Ten money came in. Which easnt until after vs was released, according to Jeff.
Anyway, i am excited for the properly mastered version of WW. It has been a long time since weve been given a proper studio track, so thats cool. I really dig the song too. Maybe theyll bust it out live one of these days.

Not really a fan of the Deep issue. I kinda feel we've been inundated with all the passes and flyers and handbills through the reissued box sets. I actually enjoy the artist interviews they usually have and the recipes and photos from shows. This all seemed kinda lazy to me but to each his own.
I must be very jaded since the Raleigh cancellation, because I think this is the worst holiday single and issue of Deep. The entire issue was just scans of stuff we have pretty much all seen already. And the single was composed of stuff they just had laying around already.

Everyone is kind of crapping on the Beyonce cameo, but I'm wondering how the A side is? For the record I don't mind the duet. I'm not really a fan the genre of Beyonce's music so I can't really judge her own career, but I thought she did a job duet'ing with Eddie. I prefer xmas single with new tracks on them (we have 100's of live albums, so live tracks aren't as exciting). My complaint isn't about Beyonce, it's just that I like new studio tracks better.
