You haven't done the same at all.
I specifically pointed out that people die specifically because they don't have enough money. You said that wasn't true. I posted links to provide some evidence that it is.
You posting a link about some errors that have occured in Canada's system is irrelevant to my point. And of course no system is perfect - I never claimed Canada's is. But it's a hell of a lot better than America's specifically for the point I'm making. I find it so odd that so many Americans support a system where insurance companies profit from witholding care and poor people die because they can't afford the healthcare. It's crazy.
Good luck getting any sort of a fair conversation out about this or not getting mob attacked for your opinion. While the first article he posted is moot because that shit happens in every healthcare system, the second one is something we do have to deal with up here. As you said our system is not perfect and has its flaws.
But I agree the American health care system is just sickening in its interest in profits before anything else. When you suggest anything different you get this response like you are telling them you are taking all of their "freedom" away.
I guess we just have to be happy we live in a country where we were brought up to think of others along with ourselves, rather than just clawing for 'what is mine'.
If you have no skin in this game why do you feel the need to jump in. I never brought up health care in the first place. When you posted slamming the American health care system it opens yours up as well. The whole point of this thread was to bring up that I worked hard to get where I am at in life and with the state of our government here I do not want to see taxes increased. So if you don't want the flaws in Canada pointed out start your own thread tooting your health care system. If you want to slam our system that you are not a part of you shouldn't whine or complain when it comes back your way. Or is that too capitalistic for you.
Just to clear and accurate, rr brought up our healthcare system. We didn't drag this into the discussion he did. His comments were addressed, however just because you don't like the answers doesn't mean we don't know what we are talking about.
Also who says I have no skin in this game? Are you implying that I need to be told when I have a vested interest in a conversation and when I don't? Thank you sooooooooooooo much for that, I have no idea what I would do without some good ole boy telling me what to think and when. :how_interesting:

I'm not going to make fun of Mexico, that's just mean and insensitive .Plus their drug lords could whoop the shit out of our soft brothers and sisters up north.

But it's not all bad.You know I love me some Nickelback,Rush and Bryan Adams.Plus when my Panthers win the cup this year,I will tip one back in honor of the nation that gave us hockey.

I lost a twinge of repect for you RR with the nickleback thing.

ND, I only brought up Canadian health care as someone used google to show how fucked up ours is. I can use google to prove any point one way or the other as well. Our system is not perfect but its flaws are created by the government themselves. Giving them more money to fix it is akin to giving the crackhead on a corner money and then getting upset when they use it on crack and not what you wanted them to use it for. Our whole country is based on capitalism and that will never change.

So far as you having an opinion they are like assholes. Everyone has them and they smell. If yours is based on google then it is an asshole that dumped a fresh load without being cleaned. It smells really bad. You can share but don't get mad when you are told how bad it smells

Anyone ever think that those taxes paid for universal healthcare in Canada and any other countries providing it to their citizens are actually saving money? I was thinking about this the other day. And those of us in the US paying as we go and having to use insurance companies are paying a LOT more than we think.

I had the day off today and went to see "Where to Invade next?" at the theater. Not only did they reiterate this notion, but it's factual. We pay more as individuals using insurance companies and out-of-pocket than paying higher taxes for universal healthcare.

There was so much more to this film to learn about. It's about so much we have no idea about of European nations and ways they do some things that we, as a nation, can improve upon. I walked away feeling full of hope that with the right leadership, we could be that much better, if we stop looking at ourselves within American society as - ME - and switched it to - WE.

Because applying the same failed solutions to the same problems over and over again makes us stupid. Don't want to pay higher taxes for better service? Well, you'll just pay that money anyway, and much more, when you get sick or injured.

  • I didn't Google shit. Does anything I said look like it came from Google? Please also tell me what other source besides Google you use to find your info? It is a search engine, that's what it is there for. You ask for examples, they are provided, but their source isn't good enough for you.
Please stop with the double standard it is nauseating. Either you are big enough boys to take a dissenting argument or you're in the wrong neck of the woods.
If you don't agree and feel that particular discussion isn't progressing just stop replying. Why does the other party always have to shush it. The only thing around here that stinks is the hypocrisy.

I have been taking dissenting opinions for days from this super liberal crowd. No one got butt hurt until you came in whining about Canada hate. Google helps find information but it is full of more one sided opinions than useful information. Using random things found on Google to form your opinion is the same as using only foxnews or the daily show to do the same.

If that's your take on so be it, not surprising just disappointing.

And your take on paying more by way of Insurance and out-of-pocket over universal healthcare? Let's talk facts.

And you know dividing us into liberal versus conservative does nothing to help the state of our country right now. Let's talk solutions not labels.

Why should I pay for all this extra stuff Bernie and Hillary want to do? I am a self made man. I went into the Marine Corps at 19. I earned my GI Bill and used that to better myself in my late 20's when I went back to school. I took a bus for 6 hours to get from school to work, slept a few hours and repeated that process the next day. I worked hard to get where I am at. Anyone could have done what I did. No one gave me anything. So when I see Bernie and Hillary wanting to pay for all this extra stuff I say fuck that. They will push me down to raise others up. I say hell no. They can fund their communist plans in another country.

Say yes to the American dream again. Say yes to Rubio in 2016! He may be a robot but at least he gets it. Or his people do, either way Rubio in 2016!

what a selfish way of thinking. "I had a tough life, and everyone else should too." If you took a bath in your self love you'd drown.

Complacency is the tool used to keep people down. Throw people small bones here and there to make them kind of happy. I'm very happy for people that made themselves into top earners. If you stop treating people like they can't help themselves maybe they will start helping themselves. There is a need for programs to help people in need. There is not a need to support people for the rest of their lives unless it is extreme circumstances. The American Dream was to improve your station in life. Let's go back to people wanting that as their dream.

This has nothing to do with what the OP said.
And why the fuck is it selfish?
When did the OP want anyone to have a tough life?
You guys are fucking hypocrites. You preach the peace and love but only for those that agree with you.Classy.
