Hampton Roll Call

My younger brother lives in Norfolk and that's why this is my only spring PJ show, but he said there's not a ton to do except hang out by the beach. Which doesn't sound all that bad coming from a guy living in Wisconsin and having to deal with winter. I'm sure there's more to do that other locals could let us know about. I'm curious as well. Because the last thing I want to do is stand in-line for three hours for a poster or sticker.my2hands said:if I have 1 day in the Hampton/Norfolk/VB area as a traveler that's never been there, what are must see/do things I should consider?
thanks!Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0 -
Depends on what you're into and the transportation you have. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is only about 20 minutes away and that is a very nice theme park. If you're into history, there's lots to do in Richmond. And of course Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg and those types of things are very close to Hampton. The beach is of course nice, but in April, it's a bit early. Weather will be hit or miss. There is excellent golf in the Williamsburg area and a huge outlet area for shopping.coco butter said:

Last, you should check the schedule for the Norva and the National for Sunday night. They are both top notch clubs and draw very good acts. I've seen unbelievable shows there.0 -
We are definitely into that kind if stuff... I was checking it out earlier... worth the visit?N_Jay_H said:
You can visit Fort Monroe, if you are into that kind of stuff. On the same side of the bridge tunnel.my2hands said:if I have 1 day in the Hampton/Norfolk/VB area as a traveler that's never been there, what are must see/do things I should consider?

Great info! We will have a car so we can essily get around... the amusement park would be great, but not this trip, ive actually been there years ago... we may not have a full day so I think we'll try to hit fort Monroe, any thoughts on that? Check out any nice parks or quiet beach areas... grab a bite...mrussel1 said:

Downtown Hampton has a few great restaurants: Conch & Bucket, Taphouse (both are right next to each other).my2hands said:

And I lived in downtown Hampton for 3 years. Check out the Facebook page for the Taphouse and Conch & Bucket. The owner, Pete, very well might have a band playing in either one of those locations. He's a big music guy.0 -
