I've been to two other shows at Hampton but it's been nearly 20 years (Phish in 1997 and the Dead in 1991). The arena was entirely general admission for those two shows, do you know what they're doing for Pearl Jam?

I'm not going, but have been wondering about GA. All phish shows I've seen there have been. The mothership a great place to see a show

im on the fence... you can claim either GA or Reserved so I imagine there has to be seating
  • Options
Wondering about this also - never been to there for a show. For those GA shows mentioned above, were even the 'seats' also GA? Or aren't there seats/reserved seating anyway? I'm more prone to go for reserved seats but if this place has little to no seating, maybe GA is better.

I'm psyched, just put in for my lottery- making the short trip down from DC. I've read some great reviews about the Coliseum, and i love how it's on the smaller side of arenas..For you overnighters check out the Embassy Suites-Hampton, it looks like it's literally across the street!

Hampton is 30 minutes from the house, crazy to see them pick the Mothership as a venue. This will be the Charlottesville of 2016, count on it.

I'll be in Norfolk for the Tattoo Festival, which I believe Hampton is like 30 minutes away. I'm definitely going to do everything I can to get to this show. I just don't know how to get there, I guess if there's no uber/taxi I'll rent a car for a day…. This is awesome!!!

The entire building was GA, even the seats. Mangla1976 posted the TM chart, so it looks like there will be reserved seats for this show. Either way, it's a cool arena - I'm excited for the chance to see PJ there. The Grateful Dead played some of their best East Coast shows there...

What's the chances the band might cover a Dead song? If they were ever going to, this would be the place to do it.

I'll be there if i score a ticket.

Friend of mine saw The Dead ther a few times and said The Coliseum was a good place to see/hear a concert.

Pearl Jam at the Mothership could very well be the show of the tour...and bootleg. The Hampton Coliseum is an old school arena (1970) that was built for live music (little over 13,000). Great sound and great vibe. As has been mentioned, there have been some absolutely legendary Dead and Phish shows recorded here literally because of how magical the acoustics are in the place. We will be driving up from the Outer Banks of NC so this is also about as close as it gets for me as well. Simply cannot wait for this one!

Is it too early to start talking up pre-game tailgating spots?! Any locals care to share nearby hangouts for us out of towners? :hang_loose: Or maybe the parking lot takes care of itself..?

Couldn't decide to put my lotto on the raleigh or Hampton show. The mothership sounds like a great gig to play at, looks awesome too on the outside by the looks of it. Coming from the midwest, whats the best spots before and after the show for drinks?

I just put in for my Hampton tickets! This will be my only east coast tour show and hopefully both Wrigley shows in August.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
