Hopefully he's not one these clowns who takes forever to talk to the media. That being said I do like the trade for the Yankees from a potential perspective.

I think it will all depend on which Castro shows up in NY. If you get the one who played the first half of this season, you will not be happy. If you get the second half and playoff Castro, you got a good hitter.

This^. Also, be prepared for average at best fielding and a below average base runner.
He always seems like he's got something else on his mind during games and makes a lot of boneheaded plays.
When his bat is hot, he can drive in a lot of runs!

He did look very comfortable playing 2nd base the last half of last year. Right?

Still a lot of talk linking Heyward to Cubs. For his asking price I wouldn't. Hope we are driving up cost for Cards. Id rather Soler cheap than Heyward over priced.

I'm hoping Heyward signs with with SF and StL ends up with Cespedes or Davis. I'm all for the Cubs overpaying for him, but he fills a monster hole for them.

Cards need a power threat and somebody to pair with Holliday for his last couple seasons. They've had enough base runners, but nobody to drive them in the last compel seasons.

We aren't paying him to hit hrs or get rbis. He will prob hit 1 or 2 along with zobrist. We just need him to get on base for rizzo, bryant and schwarber who we are paying to hit hrs and get rbis. 23 mil is prob a tad more than you'd want to spend but such is the going rate. Solid def outfielder and you stole him from your biggest rival. I'll take it.

Assume you mean Heyward? It's actually $23m/year.
I heard 6/$190....either way, would've been nice to have him, but the Cards need a real bat and an innings eater more than they need a guy like Heyward. If somebody was gonna overpay for him, it made the most sense for Chicago, for now.

I like how everyone just looks at HR & RBI, but choose to ignore his OPB, 3 Gold Gloves, and 20 defensive runs saved per season.
