Cmon man, as Cubs fans the one thing we should know is nothing is a formality or guaranteed.

Yeah, I don't like this. There's not a killer instinct right now. Amount of guys left in scoring position yesterday and today is a problem. We should be playing these games like the postseason right now. Bunting, hit and run..... If for no other reason than to get ready. We're not doing that. I have to question the mind set a little bit.

Didn't look good over the weekend for sure. At least 2 of the 4 gms they basically rolled out a AAA lineup. Again I get resting guys but I think they are resting em too much. When you let the foot off the gas it can be really difficult to get it back on.

  • #thecurseisreal. Nice overly unnecessary celebration the other day. Maybe next year when they win the division they won't jinx themselves......

Yeah, you've been beating that drum. I'm not sure it really holds any weight. Every team celebrates when they win the division. Overly unnecessary? Not sure. They celebrate every win, and have for this and last season - to the point that they have a dedicated room in the clubhouse for it with a smoke machine. I'm not sure the celebration had anything to do with it. I think we need to take a step back and relax. This team has had the right mindset all year. I'd be surprised to see anything different for the last week of the season and the playoffs.

As bad as dropping 3/4 to the Booze Crew seems, I'd much rather them hit that slump now than next month. The Nats lost again, home field down to 8. The celebration Friday has nothing to do with yesterday or today and there is no such thing as a damn curse.

Buddy, you need to relax. Trust me, there's 30 more people on this thread that are just as familiar with their cubs history as you are..... And it means nothing. Absolutely zero. Walking on eggshells sounds like exactly what you do when you're afraid of losing, and the completely wrong mindset to have. And what on earth are you scared to death of? Of not winning the world series? Something none of have seen anyway? I think the sun will still come up tomorrow.

So here's a question. Not that I really think he'd be on here commenting - but given his love of PJ, and the article I just read about him (a good read, btw - if you're interested - espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/17588399/theo-epstein-mastermind-cubs-season ), I wouldn't really put it past the guy.

So, if you had to guess, which one of us crazy fuckers is Theo? It would be pretty funny to find out he's on here all the time making posts and commenting. I mean, if you're going to follow people home from Fenway, incognito, you might just get the same fun out of being on these boards without anyone actually knowing who you are.

Also, nice little come-from-behind win last night. Good to see Hayward go oppo for a dinger. Wrigley is rocking right now. I'd love to get to a game before the end of this home stand - although, I think I blew my "travel load" with the wife until late October - with all the PJ/Wrigley stuff I made her go to.....umm, pregnant. She'll thank me one day.

This needs to be Haywards approach..not sure why he always pulls the ball resulting in weak groundouts..its what he did for the cardinals last October.

Thank you! Due date of Feb 22. I'm hoping my kid enters the world knowing only of the Cubs being World Series Champions. He'll already be pretty decked out.....Wrigleyville Sports got a lot of business from me when I was there for PJ.

  • Speaking of Wrigleyville Sports.. I bought a Bryant t-shirt when I was there (tri-blend road shirsey - $40). The tab on the hanger said L, and a long sticker down the front of the shirt said "Large" about 25 times. I get home to Maryland, check my receipt, it says Med. Look at the shirt itself, the tag says Med and inside the neck says Medium. D'oh!!
I emailed them to see if I could mail it back and exchange it. They said no problem! Filled out a form, shipped it back with a copy of my store receipt, and they sent me a large. Only 6 days from when I put the old one in the mail to when I received the new one! Excellent customer service & a hassle-free exchange! Most places nowadays make you purchase the new shirt then ship the old one back for credit. Which is fine for a small dollar item, but when you pay $40 and suddenly have to pay $40 more and wait another 10-14 days for a credit, that can be tough.
So if you've never been to the store or ordered online.. I highly recommend them!

Always my Cubs merch spot when I go. In fact, it's a thing I have that I'll only buy and wear Cubs hats from there (I think it just feels more authentic). Either way, just another good thing I've heard about them. I get their promotional emails, usually buy a few things every year. Always comes quicker than I expected.

Another strong outing from Lester. 10 consecutive starts of 6+ innings and 2 or fewer runs allowed.

Take WMA's suggestions. (It's Yak-Zies, btw). Bernies is also in the same area. And about 2-3 blocks west on Addison is Guthries.

  • So is everyone calmed down for the time being? It seemed like a lot of people were going ape shit crazy because a team of half minor leaguers (and even worse Chris Coughlan) lost a few to the Brewers.

    Everyone okay right now?

Wild card currently in a 3 team tie. Hoe about they finish the season that way. Then the teams would have to use their top 2 or 3 starters just to make it to the Cubs in the NLDS.
